Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

R-Trans: RNN Transformer Network for Chinese Machine Reading Comprehension
Machine reading comprehension (MRC) has gained increasingly wide attention over the past few years. A variety of benchmark datasets have been released, which triggers the development of quite a few MRC approaches based on deep learning techniques ...

Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Reading Comprehension of Machine Translation Output: What Makes for a Better Read? [PDF]
This paper reports on a pilot experiment that compares two different machine translation (MT) paradigms in reading comprehension tests. To explore a suitable methodology, we set up a pilot experiment with a group of six users (with English, Spanish and ...

English machine reading comprehension: new approaches to answering multiple-choice questions [PDF]
Reading comprehension is often tested by measuring a person or system’s ability to answer questions about a given text. Machine reading comprehension datasets have proliferated in recent years, particularly for the English language.

Machine Reading Comprehension Based on Improved BiDAF Model
Machine Reading Comprehension(MRC) aims to enable machines to independently reason and extract information and answer questions. This study proposes improvements based on the Bidirectional Attention Flow(BiDAF) model to enhance the accuracy and ...
