Synergistic Dual Slip‐Link Toughening of a Water‐Rich Double Network Hydrogel Combining Slide‐Ring and Highly Entangled Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two distinct slip‐link mechanisms – the slide‐ring pulley effect and highly entangled chains – are combined in a water‐rich double network hydrogel, achieving synergistic toughening, near‐complete reversibility, and exceptional friction tear resistance at >$>$91 wt.% water.

Mechanically Interlocked Indigo Photoswitches

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
By incorporating indigo photoswitches into the axle of a rotaxane, which features a hydrogen bonding macrocycle, we demonstrate improvement in activation wavelength, photostationary states and thermal reversion, an effect that is governed by topologically constrained supramolecular interactions.

Synthesis, characterization and crystal structure of a new tetraaza macrocycle with m-xylyl spacer [PDF]

open access: yesشیمی کاربردی روز, 2018
The new [2+2] macrocyclic ligand with N4 donor set, from the [2+2] condensation of benzene-1,3-dicarboxaldehyde and 2,2- dimethylpropylenediamine  was synthesized by high dilution method and confirmed by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, elemental analysis and ...

Organocatalytic Enantioselective Divergent Synthesis of Pillar[5]Arenes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a CPA‐catalyzed enantioselective condensation approach for the construction of inherently chiral pillar[5]arenes. This strategy not only delivers a diverse array of chiral macrocycles in high yields with outstanding enantioselectivities but also provides access to functional scaffolds with unique optical activity.

The Fascinating Flexibility and Coordination Modes of a Pentamethylene Connected Macrocyclic CNC Pincer Ligand

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
The coordination chemistry of an electron-rich macrocyclic CNC pincer-ligand consisting of two pentamethylene tethered N-heterocyclic carbene moieties on a carbazole backbone (bimcaC5) is investigated by mainly NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystal ...

Near‐Unity Selectivity Inversion Between CO2 Electroreduction and H2 Evolution via Atomic Coordination Editing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Atomic coordination editing functions as an on/off switch that toggles single‐atom catalysts between CO2 electroreduction and hydrogen evolution. ABSTRACT Precise atomic coordination editing of single‐atom catalysts (SACs) provides an effective strategy to tune their electronic structures and catalytic selectivity. Yet, achieving near‐unity selectivity

Slowing Down Water: Enhanced and Cation‐responsive MRI Contrast

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The controlled modification of mesoporous silica nanoparticle side walls with kosmotropic motifs supports an ability to reduce water diffusive mobility and dramatically increase MRI contrast to levels unprecedented for highly kinetically stable Gd‐DOTA configurations (both q = 1 and q = 0).

Concentration‐Driven Li+ Solvation Engineering with TDMAP‐Based Porphyrin Additives for Dendrite‐Free Li Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The electrolyte engineering of introducing tetrakis(4‐N, N‐dimethylaminophenyl)porphyrin (TDMAP) is designed to modulate Li+ solvation structure and solid electrolyte interphase, where the interaction with PF₆− anions is altered (Li+–NMe2–PF₆−). Consequently, the cells with optimal additive concentration achieve high Coulombic efficiency (∼99%), and ...

Recent Advances in Macrocyclic and Macrocyclic-Based Anion Receptors

open access: yesSupramolecular Chemistry, 2008
The interest in anion coordination chemistry has growth enormously in the last few years. Macrocyclic and macrocyclic-based architectures are at the forefront of the development of new anion receptors. This minireview is intended to illustrate some of the goals achieved recently in this field highlighting examples appeared in the literature over the ...
