OGT-mediated O-GlcNAcylation regulates macrophage polarization in heart failure via targeting IRF1

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders
Background Heart failure (HF) is a syndrome with complex etiology and high mortality in the world. Macrophage-related inflammation is involved in HF development.

Modelling the inflammatory process in atherosclerosis: a nonlinear renewal equation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We present here a population structured model to describe the dynamics of macrophage cells. The model involves the interactions between modified LDL, monocytes/macrophages, cytokines and foam cells. The key assumption is that the individual macrophage dynamics depends on the amount of lipoproteins it has internalized.

CCL20/CXCL5 Drives Crosstalk Between Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer Stem Cells and Tumor‐Associated Macrophages to Promote Tumor Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study elucidates the crosstalk between tumor‐associated macrophages (TAMs) and anaplastic thyroid cancer stem cells (ATCSCs). The findings reveal that CCL20 from THP‐1‐M2 activates the IRAK‐1/NF‐κB1/2 pathway in ATCSCs, thereby enhancing CXCL5 secretion.

Modelling Erythroblastic Islands: Using a Hybrid Model to Assess the Function of Central Macrophage [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
The production and regulation of red blood cells, erythropoiesis, occurs in the bone marrow where erythroid cells proliferate and differentiate within particular structures, called erythroblastic islands. A typical structure of these islands consists in a macrophage (white cell) surrounded by immature erythroid cells (progenitors), with more mature ...

Spatiotemporal Transcriptomic Profiling Reveals the Dynamic Immunological Landscape of Alveolar Echinococcosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An unprecedented high‐resolution spatial atlas of the E. multilocularis infection foci is obtained, revealing the dynamic functions of neutrophils, Spp1+ macrophages, and fibroblasts during disease progression. The transition of parasite control strategy from “active killing” to “negative segregation” by the host may provide instructive insights into ...

ROS‐Driven Nanoventilator for MRSA‐Induced Acute Lung Injury Treatment via In Situ Oxygen Supply, Anti‐Inflammation and Immunomodulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A ROS‐driven in situ oxygen supply nanoventilator based on enzyme nanocapsule can convert ROS into O2 through enzyme cascade reaction between SOD and CAT to relieve lung hypoxia, and kill MRSA by releasing vancomycin, which effectively reduces HIF‐1α expression and balances pro‐inflammatory/anti‐inflammatory macrophages ratio, thereby reducing the ...

Targeting Decidual CD16+ Immune Cells with Exosome‐Based Glucocorticoid Nanoparticles for Miscarriage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Exosome‐based nanoparticles (GC‐Exo‐CD16Ab) are designed to deliver glucocorticoids (GC) specifically to decidual CD16+ NK cells and macrophages. This targeted delivery effectively suppresses the cytotoxicity of decidual NK cells, inhibits M1 macrophage polarization, and modulates the decidual microenvironment.
