Induction of carboxymethylcellulase inMacrophomina phaseolina
Folia Microbiologica, 1981Macrophomina phaseolina, the well-known jute pathogenic fungus produces very low levels of both extra- and intracellular carboxymethylcellulase even in the absence of any cellulose as carbon source in the medium. However, the production of these enzymes is greatly induced by soluble carboxymethylcellulose. The carboxymethylcellulase in M. phaseolina is

NEW HOSTS OF MACROPHOMINA PHASEOLINA IN IRAN
Journal of Plant Pathology, 2012The host range and geographical distribution of Macrophomina phaseolina, the causal agent of charcoal rot or ashy stem blight, was studied in different provinces of Iran during 2006-2008. Plants with signs and symptoms of charcoal rot showed leaf yellowing, blackening of the stem and root rot.

ADAPTABILITY OF Macrophomina phaseolina TO QUINTOZENE AND TMTD
Madras Agricultural Journal, 1987Macrophomina phaseolina from cowpea develosed resistance to higher concentration of quintozene when serially transferred from media containing quintezone from lower to higher concentrations. On the contrary it did not show any resistance to TMTD. The in- hibition by quintozene at 2000 ppm was 83.88. and 85,52 per cent when M. phaseolina was transferred

Microbial transformation of oxandrolone with Macrophomina phaseolina and Cunninghamella blakesleeana
Steroids, 2015Microbial transformation of oxandrolone (1) was carried out by using Cunninghamella blakesleeana and Macrophomina phaseolina. Biotransformation of 1 with M. phaseolina yielded four new metabolites, 11β,17β-dihydroxy-17α-(hydroxymethyl)-2-oxa-5α-androstan-3-one (2), 5α,11β,17β-trihydroxy-17α-methyl-2-oxa-androstan-3-one (3), 17β-hydroxy-17α-methyl-2-oxa-

Detection of double-stranded RNA in Macrophomina phaseolina
Mycologia, 2000One hundred ten isolates of Macrophomi- na phaseolina, the causal agent of charcoal rot of many different plant species, were obtained from Mexico, Somalia, and several locations in the United States, and analyzed for the presence of double- stranded RNA (dsRNA). Twenty-one isolates from the United States and Mexico contained dsRNA ele- ments.
