CP55,940 increases intracellular Ca2+ levels in Madin-Darby canine kidney cells
Life Sciences, 2001The effect of CP55,940, a presumed CB1/CB2 cannabinoid receptor agonist, on intracellular free Ca2+ levels ([Ca2+]i) in Madin-Darby canine kidney cells was examined by using the fluorescent dye fura-2 as a Ca2+ indicator. CP55,940 (2-50 microM) increased [Ca2+]i concentration-dependently with an EC50 of 8 microM. The [Ca2+]i signal comprised an initial

Transport of poly amidoamine dendrimers across Madin–Darby canine kidney cells
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2001The objective of this study was to determine the permeability of a series of poly amidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimers of generations 0-4 (G0-G4) across MDCK (Madin-Darby Canine Kidney) cell line. PAMAM dendrimers with incremental increase in size and molecular weight were labeled by fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) and the least polydisperse fractions were ...

Electrical properties of Madin-Darby-canine-kidney cells
Pflgers Archiv European Journal of Physiology, 1986In incompletely confluent Madin Darby canine kidney cells continuous measurements of the potential difference across the cell membrane (PD) were made with conventional microelectrodes during rapid changes of extracellular sodium and/or calcium concentration. During control conditions PD averages -50.6 +/- 0.7 mV.

Ultrastructural study of Crytosporidium development in Madin-Darby canine kidney cells
Veterinary Parasitology, 1993Transmission electron microscope studies have been made into phases of the life cycle of a bovine isolate of Cryptosporidium cultured in vitro on Madin-Darby canine kidney cells. The cytoplasm of parasitized cells was noticeably altered, including marked vacuolization and the appearance of membrane structures close to the developing parasites.

Electrical properties of Madin-Darby canine kidney cells
Pflgers Archiv European Journal of Physiology, 1985To gain some insight into electrogenic transport processes across the plasma membrane of Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK)-cells, continuous measurements of the potential difference across the plasma measurements of the potential difference across the plasma membrane (PD) were made during step changes of extracellular ion composition as well as ...

Calcium Entry Stimulated by Swelling of Madin-Darby Canine Kidney Cells
Nephron, 1996Cell swelling in Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells by reduction of extracellular osmolarity (omission of 70 ad 150 mmol/l mannitol, respectively) leads to the activation of anion of channels and Ca2+ sensitive K+ channels. The K+ channel activation leads to an initial transient hyperpolarization of the cell membrane potential (PD) followed by a ...

Effect of trifluoperazine on renal epitheloid madin‐darby canine kidney cells
Journal of Cellular Physiology, 1991AbstractFollowing exposure to a number of hormones, the cell membrane in Madin‐Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cells is hyperpolarized by increase of intracellular calcium activity. The present study has been performed to elucidate the possible role of calmodulin in the regulation of intracellular calcium activity and cell membrane potential.

Ca2+ Mobilization Evoked by Chloroform in Madin-Darby Canine Kidney Cells
The Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, 2000The effect of chloroform on Ca(2+) mobilization in Madin-Darby canine kidney cells was examined by using Fura-2 as a Ca(2+) probe. Chloroform (24-248 mM) concentration dependently increased intracellular Ca(2+) concentration ([Ca(2+)](i)). Ca(2+) removal inhibited the Ca(2+) signals evoked by 93 to 248 mM chloroform by reducing both the initial rise ...

Ca2+ mobilization induced by ?-hexachlorocyclohexane in Madin Darby canine kidney cells
Drug Development Research, 2000The effect of the pesticide δ-hexachlorocyclohexane (δ-HCH) were examined on Ca 2+ signaling in Madin Darby canine kidney (MDCK) using fura-2 as a Ca 2+ probe. δ-HCH at concentrations of 5-200 mM increased intracellular free Ca 2+ concentration ([Ca 2+ ] i ) concentration-dependently. The [Ca 2+ ] i increase comprised an immediate rise followed by

AA-861-Induced Ca2+ Mobilization in Madin Darby Canine Kidney Cells
Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, 1999The effect of 2,3,5-trimethyl-6-(12-hydroxy-5,10-dodecadiynyl)-1, 4-benzoquinone (AA-861), a 5-lipoxygenase inhibitor, on Ca(2+) mobilization in Madin Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells has been examined by fluorimetry using fura-2 as a Ca(2+) indicator. AA-861 at 10-200 microM increased [Ca(2+)](i) concentration dependently.
