Autism and mild epilepsy associated with a de novo missense pathogenic variant in the GTPase effector domain of DNM1

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part C: Seminars in Medical Genetics, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Dynamin 1 is a GTPase protein involved in synaptic vesicle fission, which facilitates the exocytosis of neurotransmitters necessary for normal signaling. Pathogenic variants in the DNM1 gene are associated with intractable epilepsy, often manifested as infantile spasms at onset, developmental delay, and a movement disorder, and are located in ...

Detecting epistasis via Markov bases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Rapid research progress in genotyping techniques have allowed large genome-wide association studies. Existing methods often focus on determining associations between single loci and a specific phenotype.

The ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme UBE2O modulates c-Maf stability and induces myeloma cell apoptosis

open access: yesJournal of Hematology & Oncology, 2017
Background UBE2O is proposed as a ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme, but its function was largely unknown. Methods Mass spectrometry was applied to identify c-Maf ubiquitination-associated proteins.

Novel Process Modeling of Magnetic-Field Assisted Finishing (MAF) with Rheological Properties

open access: yesLubricants, 2023
The performance of a magnetic-field-assisted finishing (MAF) process, an advanced surface finishing process, is severely affected by the rheological properties of an MAF brush.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

c-MAF, a Swiss Army Knife for Tolerance in Lymphocytes

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2020
Beyond its well-admitted role in development and organogenesis, it is now clear that the transcription factor c-Maf has owned its place in the realm of immune-related transcription factors.

Low-density genotype panel for both parentage verification and discovery in a multi-breed sheep population [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
peer-reviewedThe generally low usage of artificial insemination and single-sire mating in sheep, compounded by mob lambing (and lambing outdoors), implies that parentage assignment in sheep is challenging.

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2025.
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...
