The study of magnetism and magnetic fields readily follows the study of electricity and is normally a second-semester topic in a first-year physics course. One of the difficulties that a teacher may encounter is that students often confuse magnetic poles with electric charges.

Accounts of Chemical Research, 2011
Aromaticity is indispensable for explaining a variety of chemical behaviors, including reactivity, structural features, relative energetic stabilities, and spectroscopic properties. When interpreted as the spatial delocalization of π-electrons, it represents the driving force for the stabilization of many planar molecular structures.

The magnetic field experiment on the Voyager 2 spacecraft revealed a strong planetary magnetic field of Uranus and an associated magnetosphere and fully developed bipolar magnetic tail. The detached bow shock wave in the solar wind supersonic flow was observed upstream at 23.7 Uranus radii (1 R U = 25 ...

Interplanetary Magnetic Fields
Science, 1962Preliminary analysis of Mariner II magnetometer data indicates a persistent interplanetary field varying between a least 2 and 10 gamma (1γ = 10 -5 gauss). The interplanetary field appears to lie mainly in the ecliptic plane, although there is a substantial, fluctuating, transverse component.
