Size-Controlled Synthesis of Magnetite Nanoparticles

Monodisperse magnetite nanoparticles have been synthesized by high-temperature solution-phase reaction of Fe(acac)3 in phenyl ether with alcohol, oleic acid, and oleylamine. Seed-mediated growth is used to control Fe3O4 nanoparticle size, and variously sized nanoparticles from 3 to 20 nm have been produced.

The interaction between fibrinogen and magnetite nanoparticles in solution has been studied by the methods of spin labeling, ferromagnetic resonance, dynamic and Rayleigh light scattering. It was shown that protein molecules adsorb on the surface of nanoparticles to form multilayer protein covers.

Organophosphorous functionalization of magnetite nanoparticles

This study is focused on a simple and fast synthesis of nonstoichiometric magnetite nanoparticles with the chemical formula Fe3−XO4 and magnesium ferrite nanoparticles (Mg1−XFe2+XO4). The nanoparticles were prepared with Fe2+ ions (FeSO4 · H2O) alkalised by KOH under oxidative conditions and in a microwave field.
