Overview of equipment maintenance support mission planning model and solution [PDF]

open access: yesZhihui kongzhi yu fangzhen
Our military’s exploration of equipment support mission planning is still in its infancy, traditional methods are difficult to meet the current equipment support needs, and there is an urgent need to combine with intelligent algorithms, machine learning ...

High-Speed Railway EMUs’ Circulation Plan Optimization: A Two-Stage Optimization Algorithm Based on Column Generation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Considering the characteristics of China's high-speed railway network and the allocation structure of Electric Multiple Units (EMUs), the EMUs operation management mode provides an effective technical route for EMUs route planning optimization. To reduce

Continuous-observation partially observable semi-Markov decision processes for machine maintenance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Partially observable semi-Markov decision processes (POSMDPs) provide a rich framework for planning under both state transition uncertainty and observation uncertainty. In this paper, we widen the literature on POSMDP by studying discrete-state, discrete-

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Maintenance Planning for Historic Buildings [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Polytechnic Institute of Jassy: Constructions, Architechture Section, 2008
The key to good maintenance of historic buildings is a long-range maintenance plan. Long-range planning recognizes a responsibility to the future to prolong the useful life of a building by preserving it in its present condition and preventing or slowing

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

RETRIEVING THE SOCIO-POLITICAL HISTORY OF INDONESIAN [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper deals with historical facts on the use of Malay before it was renamed as Bahasa Indonesia. Its early development reflects the successful attempt of language planning activities done by some socio-political activists.

Dietary nitrate and nitrite protect against doxorubicin‐induced cardiac fibrosis and oxidative protein damage in tumor‐bearing mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapies such as doxorubicin can have toxic effects on healthy cardiovascular/heart tissue. Following up on a doxorubicin toxicity study in mice without tumors where nitrate water was cardioprotective (lessened toxicity), this study with tumor‐bearing mice undergoing doxorubicin treatment showed no negative effect of nitrate and nitrite on drug ...

Planners and the conservation of biological heritage: Implications for New Zealand and Australia [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The aim of this paper is to encourage greater attention by planners to conservation of native or indigenous biodiversity, and to the skills and knowledge required for this endeavour.

Diabetes‐induced vascular calcification is associated with low pyrophosphate and its oral supplementation prevents calcification in diabetic mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Induction of diabetes in three different mouse strains uniformly resulted in an increase in TNAP activity and a reduction in pyrophosphate (PPi) in the circulation. Inhibition of TNAP restored plasma PPi. Diabetes‐induced calcification in the media layer of the aorta was detected only in the Abcc6−/− strain, which is predisposed to ectopic ...
