Blind First-Order Perspective Distortion Correction Using Parallel Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2020
In this work, we present a network architecture with parallel convolutional neural networks (CNN) for removing perspective distortion in images. While other works generate corrected images through the use of generative adversarial networks or encoder ...

Modeling the Hydrologic Performance and Cost-Effectiveness of LID in a Residential Park Area Using a Decentralized Design Approach

open access: yesHydrology, 2022
Low Impact Development (LID) is one of the current research interests toward green infrastructures and urban flood control that have the capability to return developed watersheds to pre-development hydrological conditions, bringing numerous water ...

BTB-TAZ Domain Protein MdBT2 Modulates Malate Accumulation and Vacuolar Acidification in Response to Nitrate1[OPEN]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 2020
Under high nitrate, BT2 ubiquitinates a bHLH transcription factor, reducing malate-associated gene transcription levels, thus controlling malate accumulation and vacuolar acidification.

Circulating anions usually associated with the Krebs cycle in patients with metabolic acidosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Introduction: Acute metabolic acidosis of non-renal origin is usually a result of either lactic or ketoacidosis, both of which are associated with a high anion gap.

Mathematical Modeling of Fluconazole Resistance in the Ergosterol Pathway of Candida albicans

open access: yesmSystems, 2022
Candidiasis is reported to be the most common fungal infection in the critical care setting. The causative agent of this infection is a commensal pathogen belonging to the genus Candida, the most common species of which is Candida albicans.

Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

BTB-BACK-TAZ domain protein MdBT2-mediated MdMYB73 ubiquitination negatively regulates malate accumulation and vacuolar acidification in apple

open access: yesHorticulture Research, 2020
As an important primary metabolite, malate plays a key role in regulating osmotic pressure, pH homeostasis, stress tolerance, and fruit quality of apple.

The NADPH oxidase NOX4 regulates redox and metabolic homeostasis preventing HCC progression

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Loss of NOX4 in HCC tumor cells induces metabolic reprogramming in a Nrf2/MYC‐dependent manner to promote HCC progression. Abstract Background and Aims The NADPH oxidase NOX4 plays a tumor‐suppressor function in HCC. Silencing NOX4 confers higher proliferative and migratory capacity to HCC cells and increases their in vivo tumorigenic potential in ...

Location of catalase in crystalline peroxisomes of methanol-grown Hansenula polymorpha [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
We have studied the intraperoxisomal location of catalase in peroxisomes of methanol-grown Hansenula polymorpha by (immuno)cytochemical means. In completely crystalline peroxisomes, in which the crystalline matrix is composed of octameric alcohol oxidase
