Malathion Resistance in Drosophila Melanogaster [PDF]
Malathion-resistance in Drosophila Melanogster was studied in susceptible laboratory strains (CS and OR), a heterogeneous intermediate-resistant strain (C1-39), and a more resistant, artificially selected (with malathion).

Enteric Nervous System Damage by Food Contaminants: A Pathway to Neurodegeneration?
ABSTRACT The enteric nervous system (ENS), a key component of the gut–brain axis, has emerged as a critical player in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease (PD). It is the first neural system exposed to food contaminants (FCs)—a diverse group of ubiquitous toxic compounds fortuitously present in food derived from production, processing, storage, or ...

Therapeutic effects of N-acetylcysteine against malathion-induced hepatotoxicity
Background The wide unregulated use of malathion has produced severe health hazards. N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is a known glutathione precursor, and there is a growing attention concerning its beneficial effects against pesticide-induced toxicity.

Mixture of organic pollutants is associated with cognitive aging
Abstract INTRODUCTION Environmental organic pollutants impact brain function and cognitive aging, but the effect of real‐world complex mixtures of these pollutants is unexplored. METHODS Using data collected at two time points from 170 cognitively normal adults, we used hierarchical Bayesian kernel machine regression to examine the association between ...
