Multicenter Study Demonstrates Standardization Requirements for Mold Identification by MALDI-TOF MS
Objectives Rapid and accurate mold identification is critical for guiding therapy for mold infections. MALDI-TOF MS has been widely adopted for bacterial and yeast identification; however, few clinical laboratories have applied this technology for ...

In Situ Lipoprotein‐seeking Dye for in Vivo Real‐Time Imaging of Lipid Dysregulation Diseases
This study develops lipoprotein‐seeking NIR‐II dyes that specifically bind circulating lipoproteins. These dyes form ultra‐stable complexes with endogenous lipoprotein, enabling real‐time, high‐contrast imaging of fatty liver and atherosclerotic plaques. Tunable binding kinetics allow customized imaging windows.

The discriminatory power of MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry to differentiate between isogenic teicoplanin-susceptible and teicoplanin-resistant strains of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus [PDF]
To explore the discriminatory power of matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) for detecting subtle differences in isogenic isolates, we tested isogenic strains of Staphylococcus aureus differing in ...

MALDI-TOF MS: A Microbiological Perspective
Mass spectrometry is an analytical technique in which chemical compounds are ionized into charged molecules and ratio of their mass to charge (m/z) is measured (Everley et al., 2008). Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization (MALDI) is an ionization technique that uses a laser energy absorbing matrix to create ions from large molecules with minimal ...

The plant hormone jasmonate is perceived by COI1‐JAZ co‐receptors comprising a single F‐box protein COI1 and multiple JAZ repressors with overlapping functions, complicating genetic analysis. We present a reactive antagonist (RA) strategy that selectively promotes COI1 binding to a cysteine‐engineered JAZ variant while blocking wild‐type JAZs, enabling
