Gut Mycobiota‐Associated Tryptophan Catabolites Protect Against Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that the intestinal microbiota participates in the progression of metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) through microbiota‐host interaction. However, the beneficial role of commensal mycobiota in MASLD progression remains poorly understood.

A 3D In Vitro Model of the Human Hepatobiliary Junction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A 3D human organoid platform reconstructs the hepatobiliary junction between primary adult hepatocytes and intrahepatic cholangiocytes. These adult hepatobiliary organoids (aHBOs) support directional bile transport from canaliculi to ductule‐like structures, enable quantitative imaging of junction dynamics, and reveal cell‐type‐specific vulnerabilities

The Genetic Landscape of Male Factor Infertility and Implications for Men’s Health and Future Generations

open access: yesUro
Infertility is a significant global health issue, affecting 8–12% of couples of reproductive age, with male factor infertility contributing to 30–50% of cases.

Mechanostimulatory Cues Determine Intestinal Fibroblast Fate and Profibrotic Remodeling in a Physiodynamic Human Gut‐on‐a‐Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A healthy gut barrier shields underlying fibroblasts from luminal shear forces, illustrating that “good fences make good neighbors.” Barrier damage exposes fibroblasts to shear stress, inducing cell death and the emergence of stress‐adapted, profibrotic fibroblasts. Sustained shear exposure promotes the formation of stiff aggregates of mechanoadapative

Adipocyte‐Derived Leptolin Enhances Energy Expenditure and Prevents Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We identified a novel adipokine, which we named leptolin. In humans, leptolin levels in white adipose tissue were positively correlated with exercise and negatively associated with body mass index. We observed elevated leptolin in serum from athletes and lower leptolin in serum from obese individuals.

OUTCOME OF FOLLICLE-STIMULATING HORMONE (FSH) THERAPY IN MALE INFERTILITY

open access: yes
reservedBackground: Infertility affects 15-25% of couples globally and the male factor accounts for approximately 40-50% of the cases, presenting a significant challenge to reproductive health. Treatment options for male infertility are limited and often

A Rare Allele of ST5 From Wild Rice Enhances Salt Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel salt‐tolerance gene ST5W, characterized by a unique 36‐bp promoter insertion, is found exclusively in a small subset of Oryza rufipogon and is absent in cultivated rice. Field trials confirm ST5W significantly enhances rice yield across diverse genetic backgrounds under saline conditions.
