Functional and transcriptomic analyses in Neurospora crassa reveal a crucial role for the N‐glycoprotein deglycosylation process in fungal homeostasis

In Neurospora crassa, a cytosolic GH18 endo‐β‐n‐acetylglucosaminidase (ENGase) functions as an active deglycosylating enzyme. The C. elegans Shu complex (RFS‐1/RIP‐1/SWS‐1) is a DNA‐dependent ATPase that regulates RAD‐51 filaments during homologous recombination. The trimer preferentially binds 5′‐exposed DNA, remodels RAD‐51 filaments via ATP hydrolysis, and stabilizes filaments through ATP binding.

GSK3α‐mediated regulation of the RNA demethylase fat mass and obesity‐associated protein (FTO) during murine spermatogenesis

FTO regulates mRNA stability and translational efficiency through its m6A‐demethylation activity. GSK3 functions as an upstream regulator of FTO, leading to its inhibition via phosphorylation. In male germ cells, FTO activity is kept in check by GSK3α.
