A Real‐Life, Multicenter, Retrospective Study on Epidemiological and Clinical Features of Patients With Hidradenitis Suppurativa and Concomitant Down Syndrome

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dermatology, EarlyView.
Summary of the clinical characteristics and 2‐year follow‐up of patients with HS and concomitant DS in a multicentre Italian cohort, highlighting earlier HS onset, clinical features, and improved disease severity, quality of life, and pain over follow‐up, supporting early screening and multidisciplinary care of this special population.

Continuous darkness is associated with improved growth performance during a high‐temperature period and sex‐specific modulation of early gonadal development in juvenile yellowtail (Seriola quinqueradiata)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Selective breeding of yellowtail (Seriola quinqueradiata) is expanding in Japan, increasing the demand for practical reproductive control tools in commercial aquaculture to reduce genetic risks from escapees. Slowing early gonadal development through environmental manipulation may support future sterilization strategies, particularly when ...

ZmMS1 coordinates ROS homeostasis, lipid allocation, and male fertility for maize breeding applications

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
The redox‐sensitive transcriptional repressor ZmMS1 coordinates reactive oxygen species homeostasis and lipid allocation for pollen exine and anther cuticle formation. Loss or precocious expression of ZmMS1 causes male sterility. Constitutive overexpression induces dwarfism and semi‐sterility. These findings enable flexible maize male‐sterility systems

Histone demethylase KDM2A recruits HCFC1 and E2F1 to orchestrate male germ cell meiotic entry and progression

open access: yesThe EMBO Journal
In mammals, the transition from mitosis to meiosis facilitates the successful production of gametes. However, the regulatory mechanisms that control meiotic initiation remain unclear, particularly in the context of complex histone modifications.

ATXR5 and ATXR6 restrict meiotic crossover formation within heterochromatin in Arabidopsis

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
The Arabidopsis H3K27 mono‐methyltransferases ATXR5 and ATXR6 repress crossovers within meiotic heterochromatin, are required for heterochromatin condensation and H3K27me1 establishment, and specifically influence the maintenance of DNA methylation in meiocytes.

The RING Domain of Rice HEI10 is Essential for Male, But Not Female Fertility

open access: yesRice
HEI10 is a conserved E3 ubiquitin ligase involved in crossover formation during meiosis, and is thus essential for both male and female gamete development.
