Magnetoactive Hydrogels to Probe Curvature‐Directed Endothelial Cell Mechanosensing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work establishes a platform to investigate local curvature as a regulator of endothelial mechanosensing independent of shear stress. Magnetoactive hydrogels enable on‐demand curvature of endothelial monolayers to reproduce tortuosity quantified by clinically established metrics.

Mild malformation of cortical development with oligodendroglial hyperplasia in frontal lobe epilepsy (MOGHE): a report of the first case in Bulgaria

open access: yes
Herein, we report the first case of mild malformation of cortical development with oligodendroglial hyperplasia and epilepsy (MOGHE) in Bulgaria. It is a newly recognised clinico-pathological entity with medically intractable focal epilepsy in paediatric

Combined functional magnetic resonance imaging and diffusion tensor imaging demonstrate widespread modified organisation in malformation of cortical development

open access: yes, 2001
A patient with a mild left hemiparesis and a malformation of cortical development in the right hemisphere was investigated with fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) and DTI (diffusion tensor imaging).

Bone Organoids Across the Development‐to‐Remodeling Continuum: From Tissue Formation to Functional Competence and Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Mineralization alone does not establish a mature bone organoid. This Review integrates biological foundations, materials design, adaptive remodeling, and translational validation through the development‐to‐remodeling continuum (DRC). By separating biological functions from the evidence supporting them, the framework exposes critical gaps in current ...

Analysis of TWIST1’s role in meningeal and cortical development

open access: yes, 2022
Meningeal development and cortical development are intertwined processes. We previously reported hypoplastic meningeal development in a Twist1 mouse model of craniosynostosis, a skull malformation with high instances of neurodevelopmental delays even ...

Morphological and functional aspects of progenitors perturbed in cortical malformations

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2015
In this review, we discuss molecular and cellular mechanisms important for the function of neuronal progenitors during development, revealed by their perturbation in different cortical malformations.

Anatomical functional changes in a patient presenting a complex malformation of cortical development.

open access: yes, 2004
The authors describe a case of right fronto-parietal micropoligyria associated with small schizencephaly clefts and the presence of a frontal open-lip schizencephaly with corpus callosum agenesis.

Neuromorphic Electronics for Intelligence Everywhere: Emerging Devices, Flexible Platforms, and Scalable System Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The perspective presents an integrated view of neuromorphic technologies, from device physics to real‐time applicability, while highlighting the necessity of full‐stack co‐optimization. By outlining practical hardware‐level strategies to exploit device behavior and mitigate non‐idealities, it shows pathways for building efficient, scalable, and ...

Towards in vivo focal cortical dysplasia phenotyping using quantitative MRI

open access: yesNeuroImage: Clinical, 2017
Focal cortical dysplasias (FCDs) are a range of malformations of cortical development each with specific histopathological features. Conventional radiological assessment of standard structural MRI is useful for the localization of lesions but is unable ...
