Poly[tetraaqua-di-μ4-malonato-barium(II)cadmium(II)]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2011
In the title complex, [BaCd(C3H2O4)2(H2O)4]n, the BaII atoms, located on crystallographic twofold axes, adopt slightly distorted square-antiprismatic coordination geometries, while the CdII atoms, which lie on crystallographic centres of symmetry, have a

Rock-eating mycorrhizas: their role in plant nutrition and biogeochemical cycles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A decade ago, tunnels inside mineral grains were found that were likely formed by hyphae of ectomycorrhizal (EcM) fungi. This observation implied that EcM fungi can dissolve mineral grains. The observation raised several questions on the ecology of these

Highly enantioselective conjugate addition of malonate and beta-ketoester to nitroalkenes: asymmetric C-C bond formation with new bifunctional organic catalysts based on cinchona alkaloids.

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2004
The development of readily accessible bifunctional chiral catalysts is a desirable yet challenging goal in catalytic asymmetric synthesis. In this communication, we describe the development of a new class of readily accessible chiral bifunctional organic

Mesoionic N‐Heterocyclic Olefins, Imines, Thiones, Phosphinidenes and Their Application in Catalysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 65, Issue 3, 16 January 2026.
This minireview covers recent advances in the synthesis, reactivity, and metal‐free catalytic uses of mesoionic N‐heterocyclic olefins (mNHOs), imines (mNHIs), thiones (mNHTs), and phosphinidenes (mNHPs). Abstract Transition metal compounds are widely known for their ability to activate small molecules and are excellent catalysts for a wide range of ...

catena-Poly[[triaquachlorido-μ3-malonato-cerium(III)] hemihydrate]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2010
The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Ce(C3H2O4)Cl(H2O)3]·0.5H2O}n, contains a Ce3+ atom coordinated by a chloride anion, three water molecules and a malonate ligand, and one water molecule of crystallization with a factor of occupancy of

Nonproductive Events in Ring-Closing Metathesis Using Ruthenium Catalysts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The relative TONs of productive and nonproductive metathesis reactions of diethyl diallylmalonate are compared for eight different ruthenium-based catalysts. Nonproductive cross metathesis is proposed to involve a chain-carrying ruthenium methylidene.

Cyclopropenes in Photochemical Reactions

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 3, 16 January 2026.
The photochemical side of cyclopropenes. Cyclopropenes are valuable synthetic tools in organic chemistry. In particular, this review focuses on the photochemistry of cyclopropenes. The reactivity of cyclopropenes excited by irradiation is discussed showing their unique potential for organic synthesis.

Hoveyda–Grubbs 1st and 2nd Generation Precatalysts Modified in the Alkoxybenzylidene Part With Long (Fluorous) Chains: Catalytic Activity and Stability

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 2, January 16, 2026.
We synthesized a series of light to heavy fluorous Hoveyda–Grubbs precatalyst analogs modified in the alkoxybenzylidene part in positions 2 and 5 by long (fluorinated) ponytails and tested their activity in ring‐closing metathesis. The substitution mostly resulted in accelerated reaction but the precatalyst stability often decreased.
