Measurements of Oxalic Acid, Oxalates, Malonic Acid, and Malonates in Atmospheric Particulates

Environmental Science & Technology, 2008
This study systematically examined effects of analytical approaches on resultant concentrations of oxalic acid, oxalates, malonic acid, and malonates. Results demonstrated that employing separate water extraction and THF extraction is required to properly quantify dicarboxylic acids vs dicarboxylates using IC or GC-MS.

Synthesis of Cyclopentenones through Rhodium-Catalyzed C-H Annulation of Acrylic Acids with Formaldehyde and Malonates.

Organic Letters, 2021
An efficient rhodium-catalyzed protocol for the synthesis of cyclopentenones based on a three-component reaction of acrylic acids, formaldehyde, and malonates via vinylic C-H activation is reported.

Copper-Catalyzed Ullmann-Type Coupling and Decarboxylation Cascade of Arylhalides with Malonates to Access α-Aryl Esters.

Organic Letters, 2021
We have developed a high-efficiency and practical Cu-catalyzed cross-coupling to directly construct versatile α-aryl-esters by utilizing readily available aryl bromides (or chlorides) and malonates.

Enantioselective Isocyanide-based Multicomponent Reaction with Alkylidene Malonates and Phenols.

Organic Letters, 2021
A highly enantioselective isocyanide-based multicomponent reaction catalyzed by a chiral N,N'-dioxide/MgII complex was reported. A wide range of substrates were tolerated in this reaction, including alkyl- and aryl-substituted isocyanides with alkylidene
