Exploring an Alternative to mRNA Vaccine Cold Chain Storage: MRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticle Stability When Dried in a Polymer Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

THE EFFECT OF CARBON SOURCE IN CULTURE MEDIUM ON MICROPROPAGATION OF COMMON NINEBARK (Physocarpus opulifolius (L.) Maxim.) ‘Diable D’or’

open access: yesActa Scientiarum Polonorum: Hortorum Cultus, 2013
Efficient plant micropropagation depends upon a number of factors one of which is the type and concentration of exogenously supplied carbon sources in the medium.

A titration approach to identify the capacity for starch digestion in milk-fed calves

open access: yesAnimal, 2015
Calf milk replacers (MR) commonly contain 40% to 50% lactose. For economic reasons, starch is of interest as a lactose replacer. Compared with lactose, starch digestion is generally low in calves.

Detection of Protein–Protein Interactions in Escherichia coli With Single Molecule Sensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This article describes a regulatory circuit in Escherichia coli able to detect protein–protein interactions with exquisite sensitivity. The interaction between two hybrid proteins fused to Bordetella pertussis adenylate cyclase and its activator calmodulin triggers a potent cyclic AMP signaling cascade.

Cryoprotective effect of trehalose and maltose on washed and frozen stored beef meat

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2011
The cryoprotective effects of trehalose and maltose (w = 2-10%) on washed beef meat were investigated. Washed beef meat produced from fresh beef meat was frozen and stored for 360 days at -30°C.

Sex‐Specific Regulation of Glycemic Homeostasis by Theabrownin from Pu‐erh Tea

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pu‐erh tea's key component, theabrownin (TB), lowers blood glucose in a sex‐specific manner. In females, estrogen boosts intestinal MUC2 production, which dramatically enhances TB's ability to inhibit the carbohydrate‐digesting enzyme α‐glucosidase.
