Molecular Characterization of FLOWERING LOCUS T-Like Genes of Apple (Malus × domestica Borkh.) [PDF]
The two FLOWERING LOCUS T (FT)-like genes of apple (Malus x domestica Borkh.), MdFT1 and MdFT2, have been isolated and characterized. MdFT1 and MdFT2 were mapped, respectively, on distinct linkage groups (LGs) with partial homoeology, LG 12 and LG 4. The expression pattern of MdFT1 and MdFT2 differed in that MdFT1 was expressed mainly in apical buds of

Oviposition Response to Light With Different Spectra in the Crepuscular Moth Grapholita molesta
The crepuscular moth Grapholita molesta can discriminate differences in light wavelength, exhibiting a strong preference to lay eggs in UV light. ABSTRACT The light spectrum is a critical visual feature influencing insect behavior. The crepuscular moth Grapholita molesta (Busck), a significant pest of stone and pome fruits worldwide, has been shown to ...

First detection of apple proliferation and pear decline phytoplasmas in Luxembourg
Abstract The present article reports the first detection of the apple proliferation and pear decline phytoplasmas (‘Candidatus Phytoplasma mali’ and ‘Ca. P. pyri’, respectively) in Luxembourg. These phytoplasmas, belonging to the 'Apple Proliferation group' 16SrX, are causing severe losses in European fruit tree production, respectively, on apple ...

Effect of Pest Control Strategies on Arthropod Pests of Apple in Europe: A Meta‐Analysis
ABSTRACT Apple (Malus domestica Borkh.) is a major fruit crop in Europe. More than 200 phytophagous arthropod species thrive in European apple orchards, several of which are economically important pests. Due to the pest pressure on apple production, consumer demand for residue‐free products and current policies to make food production in the European ...
