Membrane Fusion‐Mediated Cytosolic Delivery of Threose Nucleic Acids via Homotypic Nanoparticles Overcomes Drug Resistance in Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a biomimetic “nanofusion” platform that integrates the biostability of threose nucleic acids (TNA) with homotypic cell‐membrane cloaking to combat drug‐resistant TNBC. By leveraging a non‐canonical membrane‐fusion pathway for direct cytosolic delivery, the platform bypasses endosomal sequestration. To achieve potent AKT2 silencing

SPADE: A Deep Learning Framework for Spatial Mapping and Quantitative Cell–Cell Interaction Inference

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SPADE integrates spatial transcriptomics with single‐cell RNA sequencing by using cell–cell communications (CCC) as a guide for spatial mapping. It improves cell‐type localization, enhances sparse gene‐expression signals, and reveals CCC programs at single‐spot resolution.

Neoadjuvant pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy in older patients with early-stage triple-negative breast cancer: real-world insights from neo-real/GBECAM-0123

open access: yesnpj Breast Cancer
The KEYNOTE-522 regimen is the standard of care for stage II–III triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). However, older patients were underrepresented in the pivotal trial.

Inhibition of KDEL Receptors Remodels the Tumor Microenvironment for T Cell Independent Tumor Regression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inhibition of KDELR2 in a small fraction of tumor cells generates sustainable immunogenic cell death conditions within the tumor microenvironment. These conditions promote the regression of tumors in a T cell independent manner. During regression, macrophages prime T cells that subsequently provide systemic protection against recurrence. The potency of

Engineered Au@CeO2 Hybrid Nanoparticles With Microenvironment Dependent Self‐Adjustability for Integration of Tumor‐Specific Photothermal‐Chemodynamic Therapy and Inflammation Prevention

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An intelligent Au@CeO2 Hybrid Nanoparticles (ACEF) with microenvironment‐dependent self‐adjustability was engineered to not only perform efficient and tumor‐specific photothermal‐chemodynamic therapy for precise tumor elimination, but also serve as a ROS scavenger in healthy tissues around the tumor to avoid the unexpected oxidative damage and ...

Adipocyte Myoglobin Is a Determinant of Energy Expenditure and a Potential Target to Limit Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Myoglobin, known as a muscle oxygen‐carrying protein, is shown to play a key role in fat cells that burn energy. Loss of myoglobin reduces the body's ability to generate heat and increases obesity risk, while restoring it improves metabolism. The study identifies myoglobin as a regulator of fat burning and a potential target to enhance energy ...

"518 años de resistencia, 200 años de lucha de los pueblos". El deber, el derecho de re-existencia y libertad.

open access: yesMaguaré, 2010
Desde hace millones de años los pueblos originarios existíamos en el gran continente del Abya Yala, en donde no existían banderas de separación, no habían himnos de división, no habían fronteras que nos alejen, teníamos acceso a los dos mares: Atlántico ...

Technical Innovation and Chest Symmetrizing Techniques in Masculinizing Top Surgery: The Author’s Experience

open access: yesPlastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Global Open
Background:. Masculinizing top surgery (masculinizing mastectomy, thoracoplasty, or mammoplasty) is the most commonly performed gender-affirming surgical procedure for transmasculine individuals. This study presents 3 surgical chest contouring techniques,

Lactate‐Driven Restriction of Mitochondrial Permeability Transition Promotes Resistance to Chemo‐Immunotherapy by Suppressing Tumor PANoptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tumor‐derived lactate establishes a metabolic lock that drives chemo‐immunotherapy resistance by suppressing PANoptosis. Mechanistically, KAT8 lactylates the mitochondrial translocator ANT2, which recruits PGAM5 to dephosphorylate CypD. This cascade restricts mitochondrial permeability transition pore opening, preventing pro‐inflammatory mtDNA leakage.

Benign breast diseases in men beyond gynecomastia

open access: yesJournal of the Mexican Federation of Radiology and Imaging
Introduction: Benign breast diseases in men, other than gynecomastia, are poorly understood due to their low prevalence. This study describes the clinical characteristics, mammographic and ultrasound (US) findings, and the histology of benign breast ...
