Transcriptomic and microRNA Profiling Suggest a Candidate RIPPLY1–cfa‐miR‐187 Relationship in Canine Mammary Gland Tumours From Dogs With Confirmed Metastasis

open access: yesVeterinary and Comparative Oncology, Volume 24, Issue 3, Page 631-642, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Canine mammary gland tumours (MGT) represent a common malignancy in intact female dogs, with a high metastasis rate approaching 50% and a poor prognosis. However, metastasis‐related genes remain largely unelucidated. Accordingly, we aimed to identify differentially expressed mRNAs and miRNAs in primary canine MGT tissues from dogs with or ...

Comparative analysis of microRNAs in bovine colostrum and neonatal calf blood

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 10, Page 5799-5809, 15 August 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short non‐coding RNAs that participate in a wide range of biological processes. MiRNAs are present in high concentrations in colostrum, and these may be potentially transferred to newborn calves being fed colostrum.

Lighting up Macrophage Reprogramming Assists Immunosuppressive Niche Modulation in Primary Tumors and Tumor‐Draining Lymph Nodes of Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 43, 3 August 2026.
This study develops an intelligent NIR‐II‐responsive nanoplatform to combat immunosuppression in breast cancer. It enables real‐time visualization of macrophage activity via “off‐on” fluorescence while simultaneously reprogramming macrophages through the CSF‐1R and CD47‐SIRPα pathways.

Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Cells Utilize IL8 and CXCL1 to Suppress NK Cells’ Function and Facilitate Cancer Metastasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 44, 7 August 2026.
Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells evade natural killer (NK) cell immunity by secreting IL8 and CXCL1. These chemokines suppress NK cells’ function via CXCR1/2 and enhance cancer cells’ survival through PD‐L1 upregulation and BCL‐2 anti‐apoptotic signaling.

Mitochondrial Carrier SLC25A13 Drives Ferroptosis Resistance and Immune Evasion via a STAT3–IFI6 Circuit in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 46, 17 August 2026.
SLC25A13 is identified as an immunometabolic driver of triple‐negative breast cancer that sustains ferroptosis resistance and immune evasion through a STAT3–IFI6 circuit. Pharmacologic degradation of SLC25A13 restores ferroptosis sensitivity and enhances anti‐PD‐1 efficacy, highlighting a strategy to convert immune‐cold tumors into immunotherapy ...

Preliminary Analysis of CpG, CHG and CHH Methylation in the Mitochondrial Control Region of Dogs With Malignant Mammary Gland Tumours

open access: yesAnimal Genetics, Volume 57, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Canine mammary tumours (CMTs) are one of the most frequently observed malignancies in female dogs. Many studies have investigated epigenetic changes in CMT at the nuclear level, yet the role of mtDNA methylation, particularly in the D‐loop region, remains largely unexplored.
