Comparative Digital Estrogen Receptor Alpha (ERα) Expression Analysis in Benign and Malignant Prostate Tissue of Men and Dogs

open access: yesThe Prostate, Volume 86, Issue 5, Page 568-581, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The dog is the only large mammal, other than humans, that commonly develops spontaneous prostate cancer (PCa) and is, therefore, considered a valuable model for comparative studies. Estrogens are critical for normal prostate development and contribute to prostatic carcinogenesis in men.

Trefoil Factor‐3 Is a Hypoxia‐Triggered Pro‐Tumorigenic Factor in Hepatoblastoma

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background & Aims Hepatoblastoma (HB) is the most common malignant liver tumour in children. Despite improved survival in low‐risk disease, outcomes for advanced or relapsed HB remain poor, emphasising the need for new therapeutic targets.

Evaluating the Efficacy of Polyphenol‐Enriched Plant Extracts and Pathway Modulators in the Bone Marrow to Suppress Breast Cancer Progression

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 6, 31 March 2026.
The combined therapy decreased inflammatory and angiogenic signaling and altered bone marrow cell profiles linked to tumor dormancy, indicating a potential approach to limit disease progression and reduce relapse risk in breast cancer. ABSTRACT Disseminated tumor cells (DTCs) in the bone marrow can survive in a dormant state and later reawaken to drive

Delivering precision oncology in metastatic breast cancer: Clinical impact of comprehensive genomic profiling—The CATCH experience

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 6, Page 1675-1689, 15 March 2026.
What's new? CATCH is a prospective precision oncology registry trial that harnesses whole‐genome/exome‐ and RNA‐sequencing to enable actionable biomarker detection in metastatic breast cancer patients of any subtype. The data of the first 412 consecutive patients with completed follow‐up in this real‐world, single‐center patient cohort provide robust ...

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 3, Page 668-687, March 2026.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.
