Formation of electrosprayed composite nanoparticles from polyvinylpyrrolidone/mangosteen pericarp extract

Advanced Powder Technology, 2020
Abstract Mangosteen pericarp contains a lot of α-mangostin compounds which has very high antioxidant activity. Unfortunately, it has a low solubility in aqueous solution in which for drug delivery application. This paper reports the synthesis of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) nanoparticles loaded with mangosteen pericarp extract (MPE) using the ES method.

Hydrotropic Extraction of Xanthones from Mangosteen Pericarp

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
A novel separation process for extraction of xanthones from mangosteen pericarp was investigated using aqueous hydrotrope solution. The hydrotropes sodium salicylate was used for the extraction. The effects of factors such as hydrotrope concentration, extraction temperature and solid loading were investigated by using Response Surface Methodology (RSM).

One-pot depolymerizative extraction of proanthocyanidins from mangosteen pericarps

Food Chemistry, 2009
Abstract Reaction of dried mangosteen pericarps powders with mercaptoacetic acid in the presence of hydrochloric acid in methanol afforded 4β-(carboxymethyl)sulphanyl-(−)-epicatechin methyl ester, 1, in 4.5% yield. The structure of 1 was characterised by 1H, 13C NMR, and mass spectra. Two protons on the prochiral methylene carbon next to sulphur atom

Extraction of valuable compounds from mangosteen pericarps by hydrothermal assisted sonication

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2015
Valuable compounds, such as xanthone and phenolic compounds, from mangosteen pericarps was extracted by hydrothermal treatment at temperatures of 120-160 °C and pressures of 5 MPa using batch and semi-batch extractor. This method is a simple and environmentally friendly extraction method requiring no chemicals other than water.

Effect of Dye Extraction from Mangosteen Pericarp with Different Extraction Solvents for DSSC Fabrication

Applied Mechanics and Materials
Dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) is a well-known solar cell device because it can convert electrical energy from solar energy. In addition, DSSC has many benefits to offer humankind such as low cost in production, flexibility and eco-friendliness. However, the efficiency provided for DSSC operation is still low compared to the efficiency offered by ...
