Base Force/Torque Sensing for Position based artesian Impedance Control

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, a position based impedance controller (i.e. admittance controller) is designed by utilizing measurements of a force/torque sensor, which is mounted at the robot’s base.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

An adaptive fuzzy logic controller for robot-manipulator

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, an adaptive fuzzy controller is designed for the robot-manipulator. The synthesized controller ensures that 1) the close-loop system is globally stable and 2) the tracking error converges to zero asymptotically and a cost function is ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Experiment research on control performance for the actuators of a deep-sea hydraulic manipulator

open access: yes, 2016
A greater control performance of underwater slave arm actuator modules could improve the efficiency and accuracy of the whole master-slave manipulator system.

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Dynamic trajectory planning of underwater hydraulic manipulator in joint space

open access: yes, 2014
7-Function underwater hydraulic manipulator can be mounted on underwater vehicles such as ROVs to achieve underwater operation. When the underwater vehicle is hovering in the sea, the target is in dynamic motion state compared to the vehicle position ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
