Plant Cell Wall Polysaccharide O-Acetyltransferases

open access: yesPlants
Plant cell walls are largely composed of polysaccharide polymers, including cellulose, hemicelluloses (xyloglucan, xylan, mannan, and mixed-linkage β-1,3/1,4-glucan), and pectins.

Urinary Peptidomic Profiling In Post‐Acute Sequelae of SARS‐CoV‐2 Infection: A Case‐Control Study

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, Volume 26, Issue 1, Page 32-43, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Post‐acute sequelae of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2‐infection (PASC) is challenging to diagnose and treat, and its molecular pathophysiology remains unclear. Urinary peptidomics can provide valuable information on urine peptides that may enable improved and specified PASC diagnosis.

Mannose/mannan-binding lectin

open access: yes, 2013
Mannose/mannan-binding lectin (MBL) is a serum lectin synthesized (as a ~32 kDa peptide) by the liver and is one of the key molecules of the innate immune system. Each peptide has an N (amino)-terminal cysteine-rich region, a middle stretch of a collagen-like sequence, and a carbohydrate recognition domain (CRD) in the C (carboxy)-terminus.

Dual Modification of Guar Meal via Fermentation and Enzyme Treatment Enhances Growth Performance, Nutrient Digestibility and Gut Morphology in Broilers

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2026.
Fermentation or enzyme treatment of guar meal at low inclusion levels (3%–6%) significantly improved broiler growth, nutrient digestibility, carcass yield and gut morphology, while higher inclusion impaired performance. Dual modification presents a promising strategy for safe and efficient use of guar meal as an alternative protein source in poultry ...

Cereal Arabinoxylans—Their Enzymatic Degradation and Relevance for Breadmaking and Human Health

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT As the most abundant nonstarch polysaccharides in cereals, arabinoxylans (AXs) contribute significantly to the global intake of dietary fiber. They play a crucial role in the breadmaking process with respect to dough rheology and texture, bread volume, and nutritional quality, especially when starting from wheat or rye flour.

Beer Production With Umbu (Spondias tuberosa) Using Conventional and Nonconventional Yeast

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 91, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT This study evaluated the fermentation performance and bioactive properties of beers produced by Pichia kluyveri L131 and commercial Saccharomyces pastorianus, individually and in coculture, in wort enriched with umbu pulp. Fermentation profiles were assessed over 12 days, focusing on yeast population dynamics, carbohydrate consumption, and ...
