Kinetics of β-mannanase fermentation by Bacillus licheniformis

Biotechnology Letters, 2003
Bacterial growth, konjac powder utilization and beta-mannanase production by Bacillus licheniformis NK-27 in batch fermentation were used to develop a model of the process. The optimal set of parameters was estimated by fitting the model to experimental data.

A simple assay procedure for β-d-mannanase

Carbohydrate Research, 1978
A simple assay procedure for beta-D-mannanase enzyme has been developed which employs carob D-galacto-D-mannan dyed with Remazolbrilliant Blue. Additionally, the procedure is quantitative, relatively sensitive, and highly specific for beta-D-mannanase enzyme.

Purification and some properties of ?-mannanase fromPolyporus versicolor

World Journal of Microbiology & Biotechnology, 1990
Multiple enzyme forms of β-mannanase activity fromPolyporus versicolor were puritied to molecular homogeneity by a sequence involving DEAE Bio-Gel A chromatography, gel filtration on Sephadex G-100 and high-performance liquid chromatography using anion exchange and hydrophobic Interaction media.

Purification and properties of mannanase from Bacillus subtilis

World Journal of Microbiology & Biotechnology, 1994
Extracellular mannanase from Bacillus subtilis NM-39, an isolate from Philippine soil, was purified about 240-fold with a yield of 7.3% by ammonium sulphate fractionation, DEAE-Toyopearl chromatography and Sephacryl S-200 gel filtration. Its M r was 38 kDa and it had a pI of 4.8 and optimum activity at pH 5.0 and 55°C.

Molecular cloning of kman coding for mannanase from Klebsiella oxytoca KUB-CW2-3 and its hybrid mannanase characters

Enzyme and Microbial Technology, 2016
Gene encoding for β-mannanase (E.C 3.2.1.78) from Klebsiella oxytoca KUB-CW2-3 was cloned and expressed by an E. coli system resulting in 400 times higher mannanase activities than the wild type. A 3314bp DNA fragment obtained revealed an open reading frame of 1164bp, namely kman-2, which encoded for 387 amino acids with an estimated molecular weight ...

The cloned ?-mannanase gene from alkalophilic Bacillus sp. AM-001 produces two ?-mannanases in Escherichia coli

Archives of Microbiology, 1989
The gene encoding β-mannanase was cloned from alkalophilic Bacillus sp. AM-001 into Escherichia coli JM 101 by inserting HindIII-generated DNA fragments into the HindIII site of pUC19. A 2.0 kb XbaI-PstI fragment of the donor strain DNA was sufficient for β-mannanase synthesis. The amount of β-mannanase expressed in E.

Functional enrichment of mannanase-treated spent brewer yeast

Preparative Biochemistry & Biotechnology, 2017
In this study, the effect of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens-produced β-mannanase on the nutrient diffusion (release) and antioxidant activity of spent brewer yeast (SBY) was investigated. Three pretreatments were performed: (1) autolysis at 50°C for 24 h; (2) autolysis at 50°C for 24 h, with the addition of β-mannanase during the autolysis; (3) autolysis ...

ß-Mannan and mannanase in poultry nutrition

World's Poultry Science Journal, 2015
Dietary plant s-mannans are one of the major anti-nutritional components in monogastric nutrition. The presence of s-mannans in poultry diets has been associated with many negative features ranging from high intestinal viscosity and low nutrient digestibility to adverse effects on innate immune response and microbial proliferation in the gut.
