Perpetuation of inflammation associated with experimental arthritis: the role of macrophage activation by neutrophilic myeloperoxidase

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 1998
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is characterized by an abnormal cellular and cytokine infiltration of inflamed joints. This study addresses a previously unrecognized interaction between neutrophilic-myeloperoxidase (MPO) and macrophages (MΦ) which could ...

Longitudinal and Bidirectional Relationships Between Sleep, Emotional Wellbeing and Weight Status in Childhood and Adolescence: Growing Up in Scotland Cohort Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 35, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Poor sleep and emotional wellbeing, which often decline during puberty, are associated with declines in metabolic health and are key determinants of childhood obesity. The aim of the study was to explore bidirectional associations between sleep, emotional wellbeing and obesity from ages 8 to 14 using the Growing Up in Scotland cohort ...

Dietary Supplements and Biological Performance in Abalone: A Systematic Evidence Map

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 18, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Abalone in the genus Haliotis are economically important for aquaculture. Abalone naturally graze on macroalgae; however, they are increasingly fed formulated pellets that lack essential nutrients in aquaculture. Dietary supplements may increase abalone growth performance, immunity, survival, and market traits.

Ontogeny of Placental FcRn Protein During Human and Animal Pregnancy to Inform Developmental Toxicity Testing

open access: yesBirth Defects Research, Volume 118, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Species differences exist in Fc domain‐containing molecule transfer/biodistribution to the embryo‐fetus during pregnancy. Placentation was reviewed and placental neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) quantitation in the chorioallantoic placenta (CAP) and/or inverted yolk sac placenta (InvYSP) was investigated across species throughout ...

The Distribution of Mannan in Pulps.

open access: yesThe Journal of the Society of Chemical Industry, Japan, 1959
