Technetium-Radiolabeled Mannose-Functionalized Gold Nanoparticles as Nanoprobes for Sentinel Lymph Node Detection

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are considered valuable nanomaterials for the design of radiolabeled nanoprobes for single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging.

Altered mannose metabolism in chronic stress and depression is rapidly reversed by vitamin B12

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition, 2022
GDP-Mannose Pyrophosphorylase B (GMPPB) is a key enzyme for glycosylation. Previous studies suggested a dysregulation of GMPBB and mannose in depression. Evidence, however, was sporadic and interventions to reverse these changes are unknown.

Fusarium graminearum FgCWM1 Encodes a Cell Wall Mannoprotein Conferring Sensitivity to Salicylic Acid and Virulence to Wheat

open access: yesToxins, 2019
Fusarium graminearum causes Fusarium head blight (FHB), a devastating disease of wheat. Salicylic acid (SA) is involved in the resistance of wheat to F. graminearum.

Mannose-functionalization of reconstituted high-density lipoprotein nanoparticles improves payload delivery and enhances M2-to-M1 phenotype reprogramming of RAW 264.7 macrophages polarized by B16-F10 melanoma cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Drug Delivery, 2023
The targeting and conversion of the immunosuppressive (M2) tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) to an immunostimulatory (M1) phenotype can induce tumor regression in advanced melanoma.

Mannose Ligands for Mannose Receptor Targeting

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences
The mannose receptor (MR, CD 206) is an endocytic receptor primarily expressed by macrophages and dendritic cells, which plays a critical role in both endocytosis and antigen processing and presentation. MR carbohydrate recognition domains (CRDs) exhibit a high binding affinity for branched and linear oligosaccharides.

Antibiotic tolerance due to restriction of cAMP-Crp regulation by mannitol, a non-glucose-family PTS carbon source

open access: yesmSphere
Enzyme-IIA (EIIAGlc, Crr) of the phosphotransferase system (PTS) connects the uptake of glucose-family sugars to the cAMP-Crp regulatory cascade; phosphorylated EIIAGlc enhances cAMP-Crp activity, which then contributes to the antibiotic-mediated ...

Effect of Trichoderma reesei Degraded Date Pits on Antioxidant Enzyme Activities and Biochemical Responses of Broiler Chickens

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2020
The long-term use of antimicrobials as growth promoters in poultry feed leads to antimicrobial resistance in pathogens. Thus, alternatives to antibiotics are essential for reasons associated with both safety and cost-effectiveness.

Synthesis, Photophysical Characterization, and Photoinduced Antibacterial Activity of Methylene Blue-loaded Amino- and Mannose-Targeted Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles

open access: yesMolecules, 2015
Over the last 20 years, the number of pathogenic multi-resistant microorganisms has grown steadily, which has stimulated the search for new strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance. Antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT), also called photodynamic

Dynamics of α-D-mannose carbohydrate-binding sites distribution in rats’ pancreatic structures during the morpho-functional formation

open access: yesZaporožskij Medicinskij Žurnal, 2017
Recently, the pathology of pancreas in children is observed more frequently. Precursors of inflammation development in pancreas are dysfunctional disorders, which include conditions accompanied by changes in pancreatic secretion in the absence of ...

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).
