Current methods to control porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome, a disease affecting pigs, are insufficient and a safer, more effective vaccine is needed. This study describes the design and plant production of a self‐assembling protein nanoparticle vaccine candidate against this disease.

Multimeric IgM‐fragment crystallizable region (Fc) fragments retain the ability to bind C1q and initiate the classical complement pathway, leading to C4 activation and deposition in vitro. However, the Fc cores can also inhibit complement‐dependent cytotoxicity by competing with surface‐bound antibodies for C1q engagement.

Antifreeze proteins from winter‐active spiders were purified using their affinity for ice. After LC–MSMS characterization, corresponding transcripts were identified. The antifreeze protein folds as a β‐solenoid with a large flat ice‐binding site on one surface and can bind to ice crystals and prevent their growth at −4 °C.

Mannose-6-phosphate-PEG-lipid conjugates improve liposomal uptake
Targeted liposomes are a keystone of nanomedicine, offering a precise and efficient means to deliver therapeutic agents directly to diseased tissues or cells. By incorporating targeting ligands on their surface, liposomes enhance the specificity of drug delivery, improving efficacy and reducing toxicity. Mannose-6-phosphate (M6P) is a crucial molecular

Iduronate 2‐sulfatase (IDS; purple) is expressed as a precursor protein that goes through multiple steps of maturation, modification, and trafficking to become an active lysosomal enzyme that degrades glycosaminoglycans. Our study shows that the transmembrane ubiquitin ligases RNF13 (orange) and RNF167 (pink) heterodimerize, affecting IDS intracellular
