Expedited synthesis of mannose-6-phosphate containing oligosaccharides

Carbohydrate Research, 2022
Currently, the reaction toolbox for the functionalization of glycans assembled on solid-phase is quite limited. Automated (1 h) and manual (overnight) phosphorylation protocols that enable the solid-phase synthesis of oligosaccharides containing up to two mannose-6-phosphates are presented.

A multivalent ligand for the mannose-6-phosphate receptor for endolysosomal targeting of an activity-based probe.

Angewandte Chemie, 2014
The ubiquitously expressed mannose-6-phosphate receptors (MPRs) are a promising class of receptors for targeted compound delivery into the endolysosomal compartments of a variety of cell types.

Mannose 6-phosphate receptors in an ancient vertebrate, zebrafish

Development Genes and Evolution, 2006
The endosome/lysosome system plays key roles in embryonic development, but difficulties posed by inaccessible mammalian embryos have hampered detailed studies. The accessible, transparent embryos of Danio rerio, together with the genetic and experimental approaches possible with this organism, provide many advantages over rodents. In mammals, mannose 6-

A shortcut to the lysosome: the mannose-6-phosphate-independent pathway.

Molecular Genetics and Metabolism, 2012
Lysosomal hydrolases have long been known to be responsible for the degradation of different substrates in the cell. These acid hydrolases are synthesized in the rough endoplasmic reticulum and transported through the Golgi apparatus to the trans-Golgi network (TGN). From there, they are delivered to endosomal/lysosomal compartments, where they finally

Mannose-6-phosphate isomerase polymorphism in baboon erythrocytes

Biochemical Genetics, 1990
Although erythrocytic mannose-6-phosphate isomerase (MPI) has been reported to be undetectable in mammals, we have demonstrated that sufficient activity is present in some species to enable its electrophoretic analysis. A survey of MPI from 2656 baboons revealed four allelic isozymes which segregated codominantly in pedigreed families.

Sorting of Mannose 6-Phosphate Receptors Mediated by the GGAs

Science, 2001
The delivery of soluble hydrolases to lysosomes is mediated by the cation-independent and cation-dependent mannose 6-phosphate receptors. The cytosolic tails of both receptors contain acidic-cluster-dileucine signals that direct sorting from the trans-Golgi network to the endosomal-lysosomal system. We found that these signals bind to the VHS domain of

Liposomes containing mannose-6-phosphate-cholesteryl conjugates for lysosome-specific delivery

, 2014
Lysosomes are promising targets for cancer and enzyme replacement therapy. In this area of interest we present a novel liposomal nanocarrier containing mannose 6-phosphate-cholesteryl conjugates and show its ability to reach the lysosomes by means of ...

Glycan structure determinants for cation-independent mannose 6-phosphate receptor binding and cellular uptake of a recombinant protein.

Bioconjugate chemistry, 2013
The cation-independent mannose 6-phosphate receptor (CI-MPR) plays a critical role in intracellular transport of lysosomal enzymes as well as the uptake of recombinant proteins.
