A Power Formula for the Mantel-Haenszel Test for Differential Item Functioning. [PDF]
The asymptotic power of the Mantel–Haenszel (MH) test for the differential item function (DIF) is derived. The formula describes the behavior of the power when the number of items is large, so that the measured latent trait can be considered as the matching variable in the MH test.

Stratification for Confounding – Part 1: The Mantel-Haenszel Formula [PDF]
Stratification allows to control for confounding by creating two or more categories or subgroups in which the confounding variable either does not vary or does not vary very much. The Mantel-Haenszel formula is applied in cohort and in case-control studies to calculate an overall, unconfounded, effect estimate of a given exposure for a specific outcome

Ordinal Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel Testing and Nonparametric Analysis of Variance: Competing Methodologies [PDF]
The Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel (CMH) and nonparametric analysis of variance (NP ANOVA) methodologies are both sets of tests for categorical response data.

Cohort Sampling Schemes for the Mantel–Haenszel Estimator [PDF]
Abstract. In many epidemiological studies, disease occurrences and their rates are naturally modelled by counting processes and their intensities, allowing an analysis based on martingale methods. Applied to the Mantel–Haenszel estimator, these methods lend themselves to the analysis of general control selection sampling designs and the accommodation ...

Some Mantel‐Haenszel tests of Rasch model assumptions [PDF]
A class of Rasch model tests is proposed, all of them based on the Mantel‐Haenszel chi‐squared statistic. All tests make use of the ‘sufficient statistics’ property the Rasch model possesses. One element of our general class, the test for item bias developed by Holland and Thayer, has been discussed extensively in the psychometric literature.
