An Adaptive Mantel–Haenszel Test for Sensitivity Analysis in Observational Studies

open access: yesBiometrics, 2016
SummaryIn a sensitivity analysis in an observational study with a binary outcome, is it better to use all of the data or to focus on subgroups that are expected to experience the largest treatment effects? The answer depends on features of the data that may be difficult to anticipate, a trade-off between unknown effect-sizes and known sample sizes.

Timing for Radiotherapy Initiation After Dental Extraction and Risk of Osteoradionecrosis in Head and Neck Cancer Patients: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Head and neck cancer (HNC) patients are advised to undergo dental extraction of teeth with poor prognosis prior to radiotherapy (RT) initiation to prevent osteoradionecrosis (ORN). However, insufficient healing time may result in persistent extraction wounds during RT, which constitute a potential risk factor for ORN, whereas ...

Association Between Lateral Placenta and Adverse Maternal and Perinatal Outcomes: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesBJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics &Gynaecology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes such as preeclampsia, small‐for‐gestational age (SGA) and preterm birth remain major global health concerns. Type‐2‐Inflammatory‐Diseases Share Comorbidities, Molecular Signatures, IL4/IL13 Genetics, and Response to IL4/IL13 Blockade

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Studies suggest that type 2 inflammatory diseases are driven by overactivation of the IL4/IL13 pathway, manifesting differently in distinct tissues. We performed quantitative analyses using several large independent datasets to explore the interrelation of type 2 inflammatory diseases based on co‐prevalence, genetic predispositions, and transcriptomic ...

Age‐related long‐term effects of vaginal delivery, pregnancy, and sphincter injury on anal continence: A matched cohort study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.

Physiological cardiotocography interpretation and neonatal morbidity: A historical pre–post cohort study in a tertiary perinatal center

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
In this historical pre–post cohort study, the implementation of physiological cardiotocography (PCI) interpretation was associated with reduced neonatal morbidity, neonatal acidosis, and neonatal unit admission. Adjusted cesarean section rates did not increase, supporting PCI as a promising approach to intrapartum fetal surveillance.
