Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Manual and Semi-manual Comparison in the Annotation of CAPT Speech Corpus
Abstract Annotation plays an important role in a robust computer aided pronunciation training (CAPT) system. Manual annotation is time and annotator consuming. Automatic annotation is more efficient, but the accuracy is lower. This paper proposes to provide phoneme level labelling candidates with ASR models, and compare this method with ...

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

ThrombUS+ Study A Annotation Manual
ThrombUS+ Study A aims to collect and create a labelled ultrasound image data set containing ultrasound image series and video clips of patients that undergo routine ultrasound scans on lower limbs, because of suspected deep vein thrombosis. The data will be used to train an AI model within ThrombUS+ project to achieve automated detection of deep vein ...

Semi-Automatic Dataset Annotation Applied to Automatic Violent Message Detection
Annotated corpora are indispensable tools to train computational models in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing. However, manual annotation is a costly, arduous, and time-consuming task, especially when the annotation is semantically ...

A quick guide for student-driven community genome annotation.
High quality gene models are necessary to expand the molecular and genetic tools available for a target organism, but these are available for only a handful of model organisms that have undergone extensive curation and experimental validation over the ...

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Measuring parental care behaviour in the wild is central to the study of animal ecology and evolution, but it is often labour‐ and time‐intensive. Efficient open‐source tools have recently emerged that allow animal behaviour to be quantified from videos ...

AutoJudge: Judge Decoding Without Manual Annotation
We introduce AutoJudge, a method that accelerates large language model (LLM) inference with task-specific lossy speculative decoding. Instead of matching the original model output distribution token-by-token, we identify which of the generated tokens affect the downstream quality of the response, relaxing the distribution match guarantee so that the ...
