La teoria alla prova

open access: yesComparatismi, 2018

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Linguaggio sensibile al genere in prospettiva lessicografica: osservazioni didattiche sulla “Leichte Sprache” e sul “Linguaggio facile italiano”

open access: yesMediAzioni
The essay focuses on gender-sensitive language in German and Italian from a lexicographic perspective. Research questions are: 1. How can the results of lexicographic research be integrated into the didactics of translation (German as L2) in university ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Astrocyte heterogeneity in brain metastases

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Astrocytes emerge as pivotal regulators of metastatic colonization, survival, immune remodeling, and therapy response associated with an increasing heterogeneity that requires spatially and longitudinally resolved approaches to uncover regulatory programs and guide context‐specific therapies.

A pandemic of COVID-19 mis- and disinformation: manual and automatic topic analysis of the literature

open access: yesAntimicrobial Stewardship & Healthcare Epidemiology
Abstract Objective: Social media’s arrival eased the sharing of mis- and disinformation. False information proved challenging throughout the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic with many clinicians and researchers analyzing the “infodemic.” We systemically reviewed and synthesized COVID-19 mis- and disinformation literature ...

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Memorizing numerical data in the 17th and 18th centuries. Technical innovations and new practices

open access: yesGalilæana
Because the classical art of memory was part of rhetoric, Latin authors did not develop detailed techniques for memorizing numbers. During the Renaissance, some methods for memorizing numerical data were added to the ars memoriae, partly due to the ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

A CLASSIFICATION OF ENGLISH UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Language Studies, Semiotics and Semantics, 2017
The article studies the classification of uncountable English nouns. The topic is described largely both in grammar manuals and research works. However, it may be presented in more details. In the typological perspective English is not just an analytical
