Region‐to‐Region Unidirectional Connection In Vitro Brain Model for Studying Directional Propagation of Neuropathologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A unidirectional cerebral organoid–organoid neural circuit is established using a microfluidic platform, enabling controlled directional propagation of electrical signals, neuroinflammatory cues, and neurodegenerative disease–related proteins between spatially separated organoids.

Activation of MAPK signalling results in resistance to saracatinib (AZD0530) in ovarian cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
SRC tyrosine kinase is frequently overexpressed and activated in late-stage, poor prognosis ovarian tumours, and preclinical studies have supported the use of targeted SRC inhibitors in the treatment of this disease.

p38 MAPK in MDS

open access: yesAging, 2015
Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are a group of heterogeneous hematopoietic malignancies occurring mainly in the elderly and characterized by the defective production of mature blood cells. MDS subtypes can be classified as "low-risk" and "high-risk" syndromes on the basis of their risk of progression to acute leukemia.

The Arabidopsis CERK1‐associated kinase PBL27 connects chitin perception to MAPK activation

open access: yesEMBO Journal, 2016
Perception of microbe‐associated molecular patterns by host cell surface pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) triggers the intracellular activation of mitogen‐activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascades.

MagPiezo: A Magnetogenetic Platform for Remote Activation of Endogenous Piezo1 Channels in Endothelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MagPiezo enables wireless activation of endogenous Piezo1 channels without genetic modification using 19 nm magnetic nanoparticles and low‐intensity magnetic fields. It generates torque forces at the piconewton scale to trigger mechanotransduction in endothelial cells, standing as a novel platform to interrogate and manipulate Piezo1 activity in vitro.

A Human Kidney Tubuloid Model of Repeated Cisplatin‐Induced Cellular Senescence and Fibrosis for Drug Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Replicating aging and senescence‐related pathophysiological responses in kidney organoids remains a significant challenge. Human adult renal tubular organoid, tubuloids, are successfully developed recapitulating cellular senescence that is the central pathophysiological mechanism of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Immunolocalization of dually phosphorylated MAPKs in dividing root meristem cells of Vicia faba, Pisum sativum, Lupinus luteus and Lycopersicon esculentum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Key message In plants, phosphorylated MAPKs display constitutive nuclear localization; however, not all studied plant species show co-localization of activated MAPKs to mitotic microtubules.

Cisplatin Suppresses Proliferation of Ovarian Cancer Cells through Inhibition Akt and Modulation MAPK Pathways

open access: yesKorean Journal of Clinical Laboratory Science, 2020
Cisplatin (CDDP) is a chemotherapy agent used for patients with ovarian cancers. CDDP activates multiple signaling pathways, which causes various cellular reactions according to the type of cancer cells. Therefore, it is difficult to clearly conclude its
