RAF inhibitors that evade paradoxical MAPK pathway activation

Nature, 2015
Oncogenic activation of BRAF fuels cancer growth by constitutively promoting RAS-independent mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway signalling. Accordingly, RAF inhibitors have brought substantially improved personalized treatment of metastatic melanoma.

eIF4E Phosphorylation Downstream of MAPK Pathway

2014
Tumor cells are dependent on high protein synthesis rates to fuel their neoplastic growth. eIF4E is a 5′ mRNA cap-binding protein that recruits mRNA to the ribosome and exhibits oncogenic properties. Mitogens, nutrients and growth factors stimulate the MAPK and PI3K pathways that converge on eIF4E.

MBIP promotes ESCC metastasis by activating MAPK pathway

Cellular Signalling
MBIP is a component of the Ada2A containing complex (ATAC) and has been identified as a susceptibility gene in several cancers. However, the role and molecular mechanism of MBIP in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) remain unclear. Our finding indicated that the expression level of MBIP in ESCC was higher than that in normal tissue (P

Teaching resources. Ras-MAPK pathways.

Science's STKE : signal transduction knowledge environment, 2006
This Teaching Resource provides lecture notes and slides for a class covering three kinase-mediated signaling pathways and is part of the course "Cell Signaling Systems: A Course for Graduate Students." The focus is three major signaling cascades that are implicated in cell proliferation, survival, and stress response.

[MAPK signaling pathway and erectile dysfunction].

Zhonghua nan ke xue = National journal of andrology, 2018
The MAPK signaling pathway plays a key role in the differentiation, proliferation and apoptosis of cells, and its family members mainly include extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK), stress-activated protein kinase (JNK), and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38MAPK). Recent studies have shown that the ERK, JNK and p38MAPK signaling pathways
