Abstract DNA sequences of loricate euglenids (genera Strombomonas and Trachelomonas) were analyzed in conjunction with detailed examinations of lorica and monad morphology. Phylogenetic analyses were conducted using 342 new sequences representing three molecular markers (149 nSSU, 102 nLSU, 91 cpSSU rDNA).

Soybean greening: A global review of drivers and implications for kernel quality
Abstract The retention of chlorophyll in physiologically mature soybean (Glycine max L.) seeds (i.e., soybean greening) poses a growing challenge to global soybean production by compromising seed quality, oil clarity, and marketability. In this review, “greening” refers specifically to the persistence of chlorophyll a and b in seeds that have reached ...

A New Vista of Opportunity in Diabetes Management: Natural Product‐Based β‐cell Preservation
Preserving functional β‐cells via natural products offers promising strategy for diabetes treatment. ABSTRACT A defining characteristic of diabetes is β‐cell failure, in which β‐cells cannot modulate insulin secretion to compensate for escalating insulin resistance, pushing forward disease development.

Improvement of Mouse Spermatozoa Freezing at −80°C With Ascorbic Acid 2‐Glucoside at Thawing Phase
ABSTRACT Background Sperm cryopreservation is the most common method to maintain a great number of mutant mouse lines. However, the use of liquid nitrogen (LN2) for freezing presents considerable problems in terms of cost, safety, and accessibility. For this reason, the storage of semen samples at ‐80° in ultra‐freezers has been increasingly used in ...

Spatial Ecology of Jaguars in a Coastal Amazon Island Ecosystem
ABSTRACTUnderstanding the spatial ecology of large carnivores is critical for conservation, particularly in insular or fragmented systems where movement is constrained. Jaguars (Panthera onca) are especially informative because their behavior and diet are highly flexible in response to local ecological conditions.
