Investigating the Heat Stability and Inactivation Conditions of Decapod Iridescent Virus 1 (DIV1)

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Heat treatment effectively inactivates decapod iridescent virus 1 (DIV1) under milder conditions than current WOAH recommendations. DIV1 infectivity was eliminated at 56°C for 30 min, 60°C for 15 min, or 70°C for 1 min, providing optimized heat treatment strategies for aquaculture biosecurity and seafood safety.

Multi-Organ Transcriptomic Analysis of Greater Amberjack (Seriola dumerili) with Different Growth Rates

open access: yesAnimals
In order to explore the main regulatory genes and related pathways of growth traits, transcriptome sequencing was performed on the hypothalamus, pituitary, and liver tissues of 12-month-old greater amberjack (Seriola dumerili) with different growth rates.

Histological Characterization and Comparative Transcriptomic Analysis of Gonads During Early Sex Differentiation in the Northern Snakehead (Channa argus)

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study delineates the early sex differentiation timeline in the northern snakehead (Channa argus). These findings provide a foundation for future sex‐control breeding in this economically important species. ABSTRACT The northern snakehead (Channa argus) is an economically important aquaculture species in China.

Integrating One Health to Mitigate the Emergence and Spread of Antimicrobial Resistance in Livestock and Aquaculture

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an escalating global threat driven by antimicrobial use in aquaculture and livestock. Resistant pathogens and genes can spread across humans, animals, and the environment through interconnected ecosystems. Using a One Health approach, this review emphasizes antimicrobial stewardship, regulatory strengthening, enhanced ...

Carbonate deposits in marine fish intestines: contribution of marine fish cultures to carbon sink fisheries

open access: yesJournal of Fisheries of China, 2012
A variety of marine ecosystems play an important role in the ocean biological carbon sink.More and more often, people are paying closer attention to impacts of marine fish on carbon cycle.Recent studies showed that marine fishes produce and excrete various forms of precipitated calcium carbonate with high magnesium content from their guts.Precipitation ...

Epidemiological Survey and Genomic Insights Into Ostreid Herpesvirus 1 Transmission in the Blood Clam Anadara broughtonii in China (2019–2025)

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Seven‐year surveillance reveals a cold‐adapted OsHV‐1 lineage in blood clams, with disease onset at 13°C—3–5°C lower than in oysters—and identifies asymptomatic carriers and facility effluent as key transmission routes. ABSTRACT Ostreid herpesvirus 1 (OsHV‐1) poses a major threat to bivalve aquaculture, but its impact on blood clams (Anadara ...
