The effect of awns on seed yield and germination characteristics in Elymus nutans Griseb.
The effect of awns on seed yield. Three‐year field trials demonstrated that awns significantly regulate seed yield components and germination characteristics of Elymus nutans Griseb, laying a theoretical foundation for the breeding of high‐yielding forage varieties and seed production.

Restoration reseeding of degraded alpine meadows increased aboveground vegetation but was associated with short‐term topsoil carbon loss, coinciding with a microbial strategy shift from resident carbon‐preserving to carbon‐spending bacterial guilds. Abstract Background Restoration of degraded ecosystems is widely promoted as a nature‐based solution ...

Fiscal Cyclicality and Debt Sustainability: Evidence From Over a Century of Data
ABSTRACT Using a historical fiscal dataset for a group of 11 economies over the period 1880–2022, we examine debt sustainability and fiscal policy cyclicality and assess the factors influencing fiscal behaviour. We find that positive and statistically significant responses of primary balances to debt emerge in specific historical episodes and ...

Genetic switch to lower nitrogen fertilizer dependency and enhance maize yield
Transcription factor NCR1 regulates nitrate transporter NRT2.3 and controls root‐to‐shoot nitrogen transport. A superior NCR1 haplotype, lost in modern maize breeding, boosts this process. This discovery enables breeding and biotechnology to develop high‐yielding maize varieties that require less nitrogen fertilizer, reducing agricultural costs and ...

Sorghum T2T pangenome highlights comprehensive genomic variation
Three newly assembled telomere‐to‐telomere (T2T) genomes representing wild, landrace, and transformable germplasm were integrated with seven publicly available T2T genomes to construct a graph‐based pangenome. Comparative analyses revealed extensive centromere divergence, including distinct CEN137 monomer and CEN274 dimer organization, and showed that ...
