A theoretical review of the operation of vibratory stress relief with particular reference to the stabilization of large-scale fabrications [PDF]
Vibratory stress relief (VSR) is widely used on large welded fabrications to stabilize the structures so that they do not distort during further machining or during operational duty.

Martensitic transformations are shape-deforming phase transitions which can be induced in certain alloys as a result of changes in the imposed strains, stresses or temperatures. The interest in these alloys, which undergo a shape-deforming phase transition form a high temperature phase to a low temperature phase, stems in part from their applicability ...

Direct Recycling of Cold Work Tool Steel Swarf into New Cutting Disks via Field‐Assisted Sintering
Through a sintering method known as field‐assisted sintering technology/spark plasma sintering, cold work tool steel swarf can be directly recycled into new cutting disks. This method is capable of densifying the unconventional powder morphology of swarf, and it can also seal grinding contaminants, such as Al2O3, into the steel matrix.

FE calculations on a three stage metal forming process of Sandvik Nanoflex [PDF]
Sandvik NanoflexTM combines good corrosion resistance with high strength. This steel has good deformability in\ud austenitic conditions. It belongs to the group of metastable austenites, which means that during deformation a strain-induced\ud ...
