Measurement of Instantaneous Mass Flow Rate of Polypropylene Gasification Products in Airflow

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
A simple semi-empirical gas-dynamic approach for measuring the instantaneous mass flow rate of gasification products of low-melting solid material (polypropylene) in a flow-through gas generator with ambient-temperature air as gasifying agent is proposed.

On the measurement of the mass flow rate of horizontal two-phase flows in the proximity of the transition lines which separates two different flow patterns

open access: yes, 2015
A venturi nozzle coupled with a capacitive holdup meter was tested to measure the gas-liquid mass flow rate. An experimental facility was built and operated with air-water mixtures.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Investigation on the Heat Transfer Performance of Spray Cooling System with R134a

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2015
In order to investigate the influences of subcooling degree, mass flow rate and heat flux on the performance of the spray cooling system, a closed spray cooling system with R134a was built.

Coriolis mass flow rate meters for low flows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The accurate and quick measurement of small mass flow rates (~10 mg/s) of fluids is considered an "enabling technology" in semiconductor, fine-chemical, and food & drugs industries. Flowmeters based on the Coriolis effect offer the most direct sensing of the mass flow rate, and for this reason do not need complicated translation or linearization ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Development of a Particulate Solids Thermal Mass Flowmeter

open access: yesKONA Powder and Particle Journal, 2014
An ideal mass flow meter should have the following properties: it should be non-invasive so as not to disrupt the flow profile; it should be easily installed on the conveying line to provide on-line and continuous ...

Mass-flow-rate-controlled fluid flow in nanochannels by particle insertion and deletion

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2016
A nonequilibrium molecular dynamics method to induce fluid flow in nanochannels, the insertion-deletion method (IDM), is introduced. IDM inserts and deletes particles within distinct regions in the domain, creating locally high and low pressures. The benefits of IDM are that it directly controls a physically meaningful quantity, the mass flow rate ...

Analysis of added mass in cavitating flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The paper addresses a theoretical study of the added mass effect in cavitating flow. The cavitation is considered to induce a strong time–space variation of the fluid density at the interface between an inviscid fluid and a three-degree-of-freedom rigid ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
