Formation of yield and sowing qualities of winter wheat seeds under the influence of microfertilizers in the soil and climatic conditions of the forest-steppe of Western Ukraine

open access: yesAgricultural Science, 2019
The present study investigated the effect of chelated forms of microfertilizers applied in the tillering-shooting phase on the background of mineral nutrition (N90P90K90) with the phased application of nitrogen in stages IV and VII of organogenesis on ...

The s process in massive stars at low metallicity. Effect of primary N14 from fast rotating stars

open access: yes, 2008
The goal of this paper is to analyze the impact of a primary neutron source on the s-process nucleosynthesis in massive stars at halo metallicity. Recent stellar models including rotation at very low metallicity predict a strong production of primary N14.

Explaining coexistence of nitrogen fixing and non-fixing rhizobia in legume-rhizobia mutualism using mathematical modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In the mutualism established between legumes and soil bacteria known as rhizobia, bacteria from soil infect plants roots and reproduce inside root nodules where they fix atmospheric N2 for plant nutrition, receiving carbohydrates in exchange.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Crowding as an Agronomic Factor Determining the Development of Plants and the Productivity of Linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.)

open access: yesJournal of Natural Fibers, 2020
Nine sowing densities of linseed were compared in a two-year experiment. Self-regulation of the density of a linseed stand resulted in a differentiated branching of the plants.

KROWIG Version 1.0: Interfacing KRONOS and HERWIG or Higher Order Electromagnetic Radiative Corrections at HERA with Hadronic Final States

open access: yes, 1992
This manual describes version 1.0 of the Monte Carlo event generator KROWIG for deep inelastic lepton hadron scattering at HERA. KROWIG combines the implementation of QED radiative corrections in KRONOS with the QCD parton showers and cluster ...
