Study on the 1-DOF and 2-DOF VIV of Marine Riser

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2016
The deep water equipment mostly has cylindrical structure, so that VIV phenomenon is their study focus.Numerical simulation has been conducted on the 1-DOF and 2-DOF VIV of the marine riser with the mass ratio of 2 and 5 to study the in-line vibration ...

Ratio of Quark Masses in Duality Theories [PDF]

open access: yesModern Physics Letters A, 2003
We consider N=2 SU(2) Seiberg–Witten duality theory for models with N f =2 and N f =3 quark flavors. We investigate arbitrary large bare mass ratios between two or three quarks at the singular points. For N f =2 we explore large bare mass ratios corresponding to a singularity in the strong coupling region.

Mixed‐class J‐domain protein scaffolds promote expanded aggregate handling and multivalent Hsp70 engagement during functional disaggregase assembly

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein aggregates threaten proteostasis and cell health. In human cells, Hsp70–J‐domain protein‐based disaggregases remove aggregates, but how they assemble remains unclear. Our biochemical findings show that DNAJA2‐ and DNAJB1‐containing disaggregase scaffolds enhance luciferase aggregate targeting, and that Hsp70 recruitment by both J‐domain ...

Hierarchical Fibers with a Negative Poisson’s Ratio for Tougher Composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, a new kind of hierarchical tube with a negative Poisson’s ratio (NPR) is proposed. The first level tube is constructed by rolling up an auxetic hexagonal honeycomb.

The study on catalytic performance of CuO/CexZr1-xO2 catalyst in carbon monoxide oxidation

open access: yes上海师范大学学报. 自然科学版, 2017
A series of CuO/CexZr1-xO2 samples were prepared by incipient-wetness impregnation method with CexZr1-xO2 used as the catalyst carrier which was synthesized by co-precipitation method. The influences of the mass ratio of CeO2:ZrO2 and CuO loading were ...

The Mass to Light Ratio and the Initial Mass Function in Galactic Discs [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophysics and Space Science, 2003
A low mass-to-light ratio for the baryonic component of spiral galaxies is advocated by a number of dynamical studies and by cosmological simulations of galaxy formation. We discuss the possibility of obtaining low mass-to-light ratios for the stellar component in discs, by changing the Initial Mass Function and the Star Formation History.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Compound‐specific stable carbon isotope analysis of hexabromocyclododecane diastereoisomers using gas chromatography/isotope ratio mass spectrometry

open access: yes, 2019
Rationale Compound-specific stable isotope analysis (CSIA) is a powerful tool for the source apportionment and characterization of environmental transformation processes, especially for new emerging contaminants.
