Mass Spectrum of Mesons via the WKB Approximation Method

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2020
In this paper, we demonstrated that the multiple turning point problems within the framework of the Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) approximation method can be reduced to two turning point one for a nonsymmetric potential function by using an appropriate

Mass spectral analysis and quantification of Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry data

open access: yes, 2014
This work highlights the possibility of improving the quantification aspect of Cs-complex ions in SIMS (Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry), by combining the intensities of all possible Cs-complexes.

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

The hadron spectrum from twisted mass QCD with a strange quark

open access: yes, 2005
Various suggestions exist for incorporating the strange quark into twisted mass QCD. One option for quenched simulations is to employ two twisted doublets, (u,d) and (c,s), with separate twist angles. Working in the isospin limit, preliminary results for

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

The Toda-Weyl mass spectrum

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
The masses of affine Toda theories are known to correspond to the entries of a Perron-Frobenius eigenvector of the relevant Cartan matrix. The Lagrangian of the theory can be expressed in terms of a suitable eigenvector of a Coxeter element in the Weyl ...

A spectral differential characterization of low-mass companions

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
We present a new approach with which the dynamical mass of low-mass companions around cool stars can be found. In order to discover companions to late-type stars the stellar spectrum is removed.
