A peculiar Lithuanian particle mat or Mat ją bala, irgi mat dalelytė!

open access: yesVilnius University Open Series, 2021
In this paper, we discuss the morphosyntactic properties and the functional contribution of the discourse-structuring element mat in Lithuanian, which was largely overlooked in previous research. We demonstrate that in each function mat is associated with peculiar morphosyntactic behaviour.

Proto-exact categories of matroids, Hall algebras, and K-theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This paper examines the category $\mathbf{Mat}_{\bullet}$ of pointed matroids and strong maps from the point of view of Hall algebras. We show that $\mathbf{Mat}_{\bullet}$ has the structure of a finitary proto-exact category - a non-additive ...
