Progressive Source Coding by Matching Pursuit: Application in Image and Gaussian Data Compression

open access: yes, 2009
Conventional image compression algorithms use transform coding to achieve a compact representation of the image. Most transforms used in image compression algorithms map image data to a complete set of transform basis functions which can decorrelate ...

Combinatorial Regression and Improved Basis Pursuit for Sparse Estimation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Sparse representations accurately model many real-world data sets. Some form of sparsity is conceivable in almost every practical application, from image and video processing, to spectral sensing in radar detection, to bio-computation and genomic signal ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Convolutional higher order matching pursuit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We introduce a greedy generalised convolutional algorithm to efficiently locate an unknown number of sources in a series of (possibly multidimensional) images, where each source contributes a localised and low-dimensional but otherwise variable signal to

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Tuning Free Orthogonal Matching Pursuit

open access: yesCoRR, 2017
Orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) is a widely used compressive sensing (CS) algorithm for recovering sparse signals in noisy linear regression models. The performance of OMP depends on its stopping criteria (SC). SC for OMP discussed in literature typically assumes knowledge of either the sparsity of the signal to be estimated $k_0$ or noise variance ...
