Current Tracking Adaptive Control of Brushless DC Motors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
In this paper, the current tracking for Brushless Direct Current motors is approached considering uncertainty in the parameters of the motor's model. An adaptive control scheme to compensate electrical parameters uncertainty is proposed without requiring any knowledge of the mechanical parameters.

Embedding a Forest in a Graph [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
For \math{p\ge 1}, we prove that every forest with \math{p} trees whose sizes are $a_1,..., a_p$ can be embedded in any graph containing at least $\sum_{i=1}^p (a_i + 1)$ vertices and having a minimum degree at least $\sum_{i=1}^p a_i$.Comment: Working ...

An Adaptive Human Pilot Model With Reaction Time Delay for Enhanced Adaptive Control in Piloted Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This work introduces an adaptive human pilot model that captures pilot time‐delay effects in adaptive control systems. The model enables the prediction of pilot–controller interactions, facilitating safer integration and improved design of adaptive controllers for piloted applications.

A Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Block Diagram of the Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller. ABSTRACT This article introduces a discrete‐time robust adaptive one‐sample‐ahead preview super‐twisting sliding mode controller. A stability analysis of the controller by Lyapunov criteria is developed to demonstrate its robustness in handling both ...

Exploring Open Educational Resources for College Algebra

open access: yesInternational Review of Research in Open and Distributed Learning, 2017
It is estimated that the average student spends around 1200 USD on books and supplies every school year; thus, textbook affordability has become more and more of a challenge for students.

Inequalities and majorisations for the Riemann-Stieltjes integral on time scales

open access: yes, 2010
We prove dynamic inequalities of majorisation type for functions on time scales. The results are obtained using the notion of Riemann-Stieltjes delta integral and give a generalization of [App. Math. Let. 22 (2009), no.

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

Inhibitory control may not explain the link between approximation and math abilities in kindergarteners from middle class families

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2015
Past research suggests that individual differences in the acuity of the approximate number system (ANS) are associated with children’s math abilities. However, some recent work has argued that these associations can be explained through shared reliance ...
