A mathematical guide to operator learning

open access: yes
Operator learning aims to discover properties of an underlying dynamical system or partial differential equation (PDE) from data. Here, we present a step-by-step guide to operator learning. We explain the types of problems and PDEs amenable to operator learning, discuss various neural network architectures, and explain how to employ numerical PDE ...

Modularity of Behaviours for Mathematical Operational Semantics

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Theoretical Computer Science, 2004
AbstractSome years ago, Turi and Plotkin gave a precise mathematical formulation of a notion of structural operational semantics: their formulation is equivalent to a distributive law of the free monad on a signature over the cofree copointed endofunctor on a behaviour endofunctor. From such a distributive law, one can readily induce a distributive law

Heterotropic regulation and negative homotropic cooperativity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We identified a structural module common to some proteins that couple negative cooperativity with heterotropic regulation, two features that rarely coexist. These proteins are ring‐like and present an ordered asymmetry whereby noncontacting subunits are symmetric, and their tertiary structure differs from that of contacting subunits.

Tempered Riemann–Liouville Fractional Operators: Stability Analysis and Their Role in Kinetic Equations

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
Mathematics and physics are deeply interconnected. In fact, physics relies on mathematical tools like calculus and differential equations. The aim of this article is to introduce tempered Riemann–Liouville (RL) fractional operators and their properties ...

Mirror symmetry and line operators

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We study half-BPS line operators in 3d N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 gauge theories, focusing in particular on the algebras of local operators at their junctions.

Deep Learning Pose Estimation for Phenotyping of Co‐Occurring Hyperkinetic Movement Disorders

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore whether routine outpatient video combined with deep learning‐based pose estimation and clinically interpretable kinematic features can support multi‐label phenotyping of co‐occurring hyperkinetic movement disorders (HMDs).

Modularity and Implementation of Mathematical Operational Semantics

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Theoretical Computer Science, 2011
AbstractStructural operational semantics is a popular technique for specifying the meaning of programs by means of inductive clauses. One seeks syntactic restrictions on those clauses so that the resulting operational semantics is well-behaved. This approach is simple and concrete but it has some drawbacks.

Observer‐Based Adaptive Event‐Triggered Tracking Control for Fuzzy TS Systems With Premise Mismatch

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper presents an adaptive logistic event‐triggered observer‐based tracking controller for Takagi‐Sugeno fuzzy systems under constrained inputs and network delays. Leveraging a hybrid LMI and Secretary Bird Optimization approach, this strategy significantly minimizes communication overhead and computational burden while ensuring optimal reference ...

Strongly (g,h;α − m)-convex functions and the consequent Hermite–Hadamard-type inequalities

open access: yesApplied Mathematics in Science and Engineering
In this paper, we define a new class of strongly [Formula: see text]-convex functions. Some important implications are listed and related with already known classes.

A new mathematical operator

open access: yesInternational Journal of Complementary and Alternative Medicine, 2022
In mathematics the basic operations are addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and a mathematical operator is a symbol that is used to indicate what operation is to be realized, for example, +, −, ×, ¸, and so on. In this article, I present the procedure by which it is possible to reduce any natural number -even or odd, with or without ...
