2-Local derivations on algebras of locally measurable operators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The paper is devoted to 2-local derivations on the algebra $LS(M)$ of all locally measurable operators affiliated with a type I$_\infty$ von Neumann algebra $M.$ We prove that every 2-local derivation on $LS(M)$ is a derivation.Comment: arXiv admin note:

Experimental studies on multi‐scale data‐driven methods within the framework of structural health monitoring

open access: yesCivil Engineering Design, EarlyView.
Abstract The German Research Foundation has established the priority program SPP 100+. Its subject is monitoring bridge structures in civil engineering. The data‐driven methods cluster deals with the use of measurements and their special global and local analysis methods, which complement each other in an overall multi‐scale concept in order to realize

Positive contractive projections on noncommutative $\mathrm{L}^p$-spaces

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, we prove the first theorems on contractive projections on general noncommutative $\mathrm{L}^p$-spaces associated with non-type I von Neumann algebras where $1 < p < \infty$.

Corn cob pyrolysis: A systematic literature review of methods and applications

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Mapping the research landscape of corn cob pyrolysis. Abstractas The agricultural sector is experiencing a surge in waste generation due to population growth, creating an urgent need to convert byproducts into value‐added products. Maize (Zea mays L.), a leading global crop, produces significant byproducts, such as corn cob, which are often undervalued.

Magnetic Pseudodifferential Operators with Coefficients in $C^*$-Algebras

open access: yesPublications of the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, 2010
In previous articles, a magnetic pseudodifferential calculus and a family of C^* -algebras associated with twisted dynamical systems were introduced and the connections between them have been established. We extend this formalism to symbol classes of Hörmander type with an

Remarks on Morphisms of Spectral Geometries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Having in view the study of a version of Gel'fand-Neumark duality adapted to the context of Alain Connes' spectral triples, in this very preliminary review, we first present a description of the relevant categories of geometrical spaces, namely compact ...

Local sensitivity analysis of a supercritical extraction model

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract This study investigates the process of chamomile oil extraction from chamomile flowers. A parameter‐distributed model, consisting of a set of partial differential equations, was used to describe the governing mass transfer phenomena between solid and fluid phases under supercritical conditions using carbon dioxide as the solvent.

Testing Protocols for Obtaining Reliable Pair Distribution Functions from Laboratory X‐Ray Sources Using PDFgetX3

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, EarlyView.
This work explores data acquisition and reduction protocols for atomic pair distribution scheme that enhances high‐angle data collection, and the effects of instrumental parameters on resulting pair distribution functions are examined. A correction for sample absorption in PDFgetX3 is introduced. Herein, data acquisition protocols are explored and data
