Matrix-analytic Methods for the Evolution of Species Trees, Gene Trees, and Their Reconciliation
Abstract We consider the reconciliation problem, in which the task is to find a mapping of a gene tree into a species tree. In this paper we present a method, where for a given choice of parameters, we are able to compute the likelihood for alternative reconciliations.

Periodic review base-stock replenishment policy with endogenous lead times. [PDF]
In this paper, we consider a two stage supply chain where the retailer's inventory is controlled by the periodic review, base-stock level (R,S) replenishment policy and the replenishment lead times are endogenously generated by the manufacturer's ...

User needs elicitation via analytic hierarchy process (AHP). A case study on a Computed Tomography (CT) scanner [PDF]
Background: The rigorous elicitation of user needs is a crucial step for both medical device design and purchasing. However, user needs elicitation is often based on qualitative methods whose findings can be difficult to integrate into medical decision ...

We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Matrix-Analytic Methods in Queueing Theory
Analytical methods for tractable (Markov) queueing models commonly assume Poisson arrivals and exponential service. The assumptions are unrealistic from a modeling point of view.

Tuning Natural Deduction Proof Search by Analytic Methods [PDF]
This paper is a result of the analysis of the efficiency of natural deduction proof search and the major weaknesses affecting it. We introduce new analytic strategies based on a new concept ”Truth Set of Support”.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Matrix-analytic methods in supply chain management: recent developments
Matrix-analytic methods are a popular modeling tool in a great number of fields, most notable in the analysis of telecommunication systems. Because of their ability to construct and analyze a wide class of stochastic mod els, they can also be applied in ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.
